This is nothing more than internal realpolitik.
It's also SOP for the Republicans. They're allowing their spokesmen to be more and more openly racist because the Black wing of their party is all but extinct. There isn't much downside for them anymore, and it does play well with their modern base.

Marshall: there si very little deferance between superhero comics (espicaly if they have an X in the title) and soap operas (I would also toss pro wrestling in this mix). The story lins and dialog are nearly identical.
