With Pickler and Co. going after BOTH McCain and Obama, it raises the question of whom they want to be preznint?
Are they planning to shoehorn Jeb in, in Minnesota? :o)

Hubris, I took you to task a coupla days ago when I got my nose out of joint because I know nothing of the military and you don't have respect for chickenhawks and I thought (at first) that your condemnation was for anyone who's an ignoramus about military matters. But when it comes to this subject -- journalism -- well, that's my line.
In fact, I began my career at the formerly great news operation that the PiKKKler works for. I was an Associated Press newsman for a year and a half, then a correspondent (one-man outposts) for two and a half years in West Texas. And I gotta say -- I'm bewildered by the PiKKKler. I'm mystified that she got a job at the AP and that she is able to keep her job covering politics. When I left the AP 18 years ago, it was a straightforward news operation. No one could have got away with sneakily skewing political coverage. It appears that sometime between 1990 and 2004, movement conservatives took over the national desk -- at least, the part that covers politics. Don't ask me to name names -- I haven't had contact with anyone at the AP since I left.
I don't think it would be effective to complain directly to the AP. Obviously, they are slanting coverage on purpose.
A more effective tactic might be to document the PiKKKler's deceptions and lies to newspaper editors. I would recommend writing letters or emails to managing editors of all papers, plus letters to the editor of newspapers with liberal editorial pages. Let these people know that you don't trust AP stories on their pages because the AP is pushing a political agenda.
Lately, newspapers have been complaining that the AP is charging them too much. Let's just say that it would be ... convenient ... for newspapers to be able to wield the cudgel of bias when they're negotiating with the news cooperative. If you tell a newspaper editor that you trust the NYT and Washington Post's news services more than the AP because of the AP's bias, they'll use that in their negotiations. (Well, they will if they're smart, but the smart people have been leaving newspapers for a decade, so don't get your hopes too high.)
People have been complaining about the PiKKKler for four years, to no avail. Time to complain to the newspapers that pay the bills. Remind newspapers that the AP has plenty of credible competitors -- NYT, WP, McClatchy, Tribune, Cox and others.

Well, Moon', here's the McClatchy piece on the "muslim photo", and, as they point out, the Clinton camp isn't denying or confirming it.

What's too funny at FDL, is that Jane has a thread up where she's weeping copiously and angrily, about the pickler-job on Obama, with, at last count, more than 170 posts on the thread, and not a peep on ANY of them, about the distinct possibility that the Clinton campaign may have just gone full-boat into a smear-job that would have had Karl Rove beaming with pride. :o)
It IS on the Drudge report, and he, or course has NO love for Hillary, but the fact that they won't just flatly say that they had jack to do with it, but keep dancing around it, and even saying things to the effect of "no biggie..." makes me think that Drudge's claim that this was a Clinton job, has some merit.
It's always good to know what candidates will do in political extremis, and particularly, THIS candidate. :o)
So. Let's see how this shakes out. I hope the Obama campaign stays on it, and either forces her to unequivocally state that her campaign had nothing to do with it, or else makes her 'fess up, and then make a few heads roll.
:o)

Well, Cee; nine years ago, Williams said:

I think Maggie may have nailed that one, at least about some things. :o)

Wow. I heard this on npr today and I'm not the least bit surprised. I'm not so sure if hillary hired drudge that he's not still working for her. I don't think he threw her under the bus here. I mean what gets her votes?
What inspires her "supporters" better than coming to defend her in the light of the dreadful drudge reporting she's behind it? Remember the NH tear? Well, this is more of the same tactic. Remeber she doesn't have supporters, she has defenders who must constently be given something to defend her for.
Hey, maybe that guy can do another tube.... "You leave hillary aloooooone"... or has he already?
Regardless, the report that hillary is behind it keeps her wearing the "victim" label and that's the biggest vote getter she's got. How sad. Its what she does.... over and over. feh.
Bonus: At the end of the mcclathcy piece: "I could stand here and say, 'Let's just get everybody together. Let's get unified. The sky will open, the light will come down, celestial choirs will be singing, and everyone will know we should do the right thing, and the world will be perfect,'" Clinton said in Providence, R.I. "Maybe I've just lived a little long, but I have no illusions about how hard this is going to be. You are not going to wave a magic wand and have the special interests disappear.
... hillary dances dangerously close to that "It's a fantasy" bit mr. hillary spewed earlier in the campaign. :-O Lessee now, how'd that turn out? hmmmmmm
I have hope.

Hillary is choosing the nuclear option at this point and going negative in a HUGE way. That mocking act that she did today was downright unPresidential and she really is unwinding. Stay tuned later today for the debate that will BE the end of her campaign. NEGATIVE in a huge way.
The AP is supposed to be an outlet for lame stories that act as filler for newspapers. This sized fuck-up should not only cost her her job but push her out of "real" journalism for damn ever. I mean she was quoting Republican dirty trickster extraordinaire Roger Stone whose most recent political fart was creating the group C*** to sell tshirts about how much they hate Hillary.
The corporate media hasn't imposed any sort of moral or legal boundaries on their investigations on Republicans for so long that they don't care who they are sourcing. This was the most vile of hit pieces and we shouldn't stop until this woman is fired.

It's ", as typified," jimbo. For example: "The person criticizing moonglum's spelling was an ignorant boob, as typified by his own grammatical error in that selfsame criticism."
