read that last week some times...that is sportsmanship...we lose that in a lot of teh male sports due to the money.

Yes, the ruling by the first base umpire was inaccurate.
The inaccurate ruling on the field-of-play -- which the players and coaches, of course were required to abide by -- was corrected by a senior supervising umpire for the region, later that evening.
The home run -- her first ever, including in practice -- drove in two other players. When she reached home, that was three runs.
Western Oregon went on to win 4-2, and won the conference title a week later.
Because the girls on the other team did the right thing.
i was very touched by this story. especially the part about the girls on the other team doing what was right. the spirit of the game was bright and alive on that little field.

That was such a good feat and an exemplary form of sportsmanship. A great story in contrast to a lot of the stories about greed, drugs and other controversy in sports.
I read this story last week and got a really bad case of watery allergy eyes. Kinda gives you hope in the midst of all this crap.
Uh...If forcing a girl with a hurt leg to walk on it instead of prioritizing her health is the best sports has to offer, I'll pass.
