Schumer was the one who put this asswiper's name forward. I think that Schumer needs to go as well as the rest of the criminal bastards in this administration.
I'd say more, but I'm tired and may something intemperate.

The Capitol has at least one jail cell. The Sergeant at Arms has the authority to arrest people and throw them in the Capitol's jail.
Pelosi should jail Meiers and Bolten before running to the courts for help. What if they refuse?
I say throw 'em in the Capitol's jail, give 'em Korans and bread and water, and treat them like prisoners at Guantanamo. After all, it's humane treatment, right?

I agree that this is disgusting. But we should also note that the Dems, in majority, let this creep in (in the name of "comity," or whatever). During the hearings, the scumbag pretty much laughed in Congress's face when questioned about waterboarding being torture, and they did nothing. Look, Nancy Pelosi herself set the tone when she ruled out impeachment in 2006, so you can't be surprised that a Bush toady like Mukasey would do anything different. The outrage rings hollow.
The Republicans are lawless scum, no doubt. But when we look back on these sorry 8 years, the Dems should also be called to task for enabling Bush and Cheney's destructive activities.

A Senate who shouldn't have confirmed
This is key. If scumbags like Schumer and Feinstein hadn't helped confirm, this arselicker wouldn't be AG. I'm sure the country could cope with an assistant AG as temporary head for the time being.

One of the few things that encourages me is that after January, a new fully Democratic Congress can subpoena Bolten, Miers, Mukasey, Rove, Cheney, Bush, and all the rest. Even if they've been pardoned (I assume that's how Bush is going to spend his last month in office -- signing pardons for everyone who works for him), they can still be charged with contempt or perjury.

Thanks, Jesse. I linked to this post as a primer.
One thing that is striking, though, is how far away from the Constitution we've slid, and how unaware that voters are about this. I started a group blog with a Constitution theme, and I'm appalled at how much I don't know! Given that my education about civics and government ended with high school, I can only imagine how distorted and wrong the opinions of the vast majority of the populace are about the Constitution, the rule of law and the obligations of the House relative to the impeachment of Bush et al.

Pelosi is "furious"?
Get over it, girl.
He's SO not calling you back.
Riddle me THIS: who in their infinite myopia took impeachment off the table, Nancy?
Hint: her last name rhymes with "cozy" ...
Sad to say, the Dems haven't just been enablers here, folks - they've been effectively aiding & abetting. I'm catching a downright putrid reek of "Good Cop/Bad Cop" on this one.
Otherwise that pack of war-slutting torture-fetishing graft-pimping bipedal lice would've been serving as Cell-Block C's bitches - YEARS AGO.
Oh, but if perchance it DOES get a mite hot in DC for them? Too many leaks, too many subpoenas, not enough juice?
SHAZAM!
Gitmo show-verdicts, brought to you in part by Al Quaida (aka Bush's All-Purpose Political Rehabilitation Squad), live in prime-time on ALL major TeeVee Networks - served up piping hot on demand!

one moment in life that i will always remember was the day, during the peak of the rodney king riots in l.a., that minister farrakhan addressed the assembled folks at a "peace" rally held at the a.m.e. church. there was some trepidation about his appearance, worry about what the minister might say, whether or not he would incite or inflame the fires further. still, he's a man of consequence who deplores folks who are burning their own neighborhoods and harming their own people.
the minister got up into the pulpit and spent a long time simply glaring at the crowd. the silence extended to the point of being uncomfortable. and he finally spoke. he said:
i understand your anger, but not your surprise.
and he pretty much left it at that. how can anyone who allowed a bush nominee to skate through hearings unscathed and unchallenged say a fucking thing about this? you. gave. us. this. bastard.
what the fuck did you expect from bush? from republicans?
no attorney general at all would have been better than this motherfucker.

Keep preaching Tee Dub - I'm a student of The NY School Of Opposition To Anything Chuck (The DumbFuck) Schumer Is In Support Of. This is another reason to push for Barack Obama's election to the office of POTUS. If Mrs. Clinton becomes the party nominee, and wins the general election, her asswipe buddy CTDF will never be called to cases on this one. He carried the White House's toilet water on Mukasey's nomination and helped to finesse his confirmation. This isn't the first time this DINO has gotten people to back his hand, only to see a bust out card being slipped into play from the bottom of the deck his punkass shuffled.

This, folks, is why I've taken to calling the modern GOP the "Elephascist Party". It has become the functional equivalent of the Nazi Party of Hitler's Germany or the Communist Party of the old USSR: a criminal syndicate masquerading as a political party.

uh, no, because on 1/21/09 the korporate media will demand that we focus on the future, not the past, in the interests of bipartizanship of course

Obama will make everything better.
Just don't ask Obama why he lied to Ohio workers about re-negotiating NAFTA, then sent his chief economic adviser to secretly tell Canada not to pay attention, that he was just a lying sack of shit trying to whore a few Ohio Blue Collar votes.
Such sleazy dirtbag corrupt dishonesty is exactly the kind of "change" that we need to bring to Washington.

If you haven't noticed, I'm tightening up just a bit on what is and isn't allowed.
Next is going to be personal attacks. People attacking other people directly, attacking me, attacking anyone, is not going to fly. It isn't that I can't handle it; it's that it simply isn't how we do things around here. This place is going to be safe for everyone, if I have to bash people in the head to make it so. (That's sarcasm, a form of humor.)
Hope your Super Tuesday II is going well.
