In addition to my political fixes, I have three daily destinations on the toobs that I never miss: Cute Overload, The Daily Coyote (highly recommended) and the Pale Male site (the NYC red-tailed Hawk; some of the best photography to be found on there). They...help...somehow.

The Daily Kitten is a nice counterpart to that excellent site.

I need more puppy/cuteness in my day.
I was tempted today by a notice on the lunchroom bulletin board for a 9yo female Jack Russell terrier whose owner recently passed. I didn't see her just yet..... but her name is Sugar. I may need some sugar in my day as well.... we'll see.

tlhg - If she's a cuuuutie I'm going to have a hard time for sure. You can vicariously feed her and pick up the ..... err.... results then
It could be perfect. I'm old. She's old. A match made in heaven. I'll keep you posted.
I'm concerned that she'll be lonely during the day having just lost her master and two other doggie pals who went to other homes... and I'm at work all day. I might have to then get her a kitteh.

I just got a replacement Lab for mine that passed 2 years ago; she's a real treat. Sorry that a blind person missed out, but she flunked (ahem, she "career changed") her training because she's "food distracted"....
Well, hell, what Lab isn't?!
Me:Busy teaching her how to fetch, how to play at the dog park, and introducing her to the joy of a good butcher bone.
She: stopping me at crosswalks, giving me heart attacks when she walks on waterfalls during hikes, "assists" in cleaning out the garden beds by bringing me sticks from the yard.
Dogs. Priceless.

Food distracted, bird distracted, squirrel distracted, that was my lab. It wasn't until her eyesight started going, at age 14 or so, that she didn't notice the birds and squirrels on walks.
