Gravatar There is NO up-side to have Hillary Clinton as Barack Obama's VP.

What if there is a policy difference between the President and the Vice President and the President ends the argument and makes his decision?

"Wahhhh, he's being mean to me!"
"He doesn't listen to me"

If Obama picks Hillary he will also get Bill.

Fuck that.

Obama has won.

He has the right to pick his own running mate.

Fuck the Clintons.

The MSM needs to stop beating this dead horse.

Gravatar Please HRC, don't force us to use a wooden stake to end your candidacy.

Gravatar I'm with Trippi.

The only thing pushing the Clintonmobile forward at this point is Joementum.

Soon enough, she'll either realize she looks pathetic and make the sensible decision, or the party leaders will bump her off the road like a highway patrolman at the end of a high speed chase.

Either way, the result's the same.

Gravatar Pretty much what moonglum was saying. Ignore her, assume Obama is the nominee, and start working toward his victory against McSame.

The party will let her know what's what.

Gravatar Please don't let Sen. Clinton head the search committee for VP..we know how that worked out fot the Republicans.

Gravatar Frankly, there is no stupider meme right now than the whole Hillary as VP trope.

Obama has spent the better part of six months positioning himself as wanting to turn the page on both of the Bush's, as well as the divisive Clinton years.

It's worked for him. Frankly, without it, he doesn't win the nomination, even with his considerable rhetorical gifts.

What's the perfect way to neutralize that weapon, which he will need even more in the fall to beat McCain? Add a VP candidate who has more baggage than just about anybody in the Democratic party, with the possible exception of Ted Kennedy and Bill Clinton.

Frankly, I can't think of a worse VP choice for the style of campaign he's running.

If Obama wants a female VP candidate, I'd recommend somebody like a Kathleen Sibelius, or a Claire McCaskill. Somebody who can put a red state or two in play, and doesn't have a ton of Washington insider dirt to deal with.

There are actually a number of men and women I'd pick over Hillary that I think could do at least as much for him as she could.

To me, an Obama as her running mate if positions had been reversed, might have worked. Obama/Clinton? Eh, not so much.

Gravatar Obama needs to pick someone that is basically a carbon copy of him. Everyone here knows why. It would certainly be a disincentive for the nutcases if they knew they would just be getting more of the same.

Gravatar Oprah.... he should pick Oprah. That'll shut them up.

Yes, let's just press on an pretend she doesn't exist. Hillary who?

I like how they're playing up her voters who are "saying" they'll vote for mccain and "how's Obama gonna bring them onboard". Ooooo ooooooo let's all clutch our love beads over that. Please. Because they're hillary supporters, its a ploy. That's all. They'll no more vote for mccain than I would. All they need to do is put aside their victimhood and get onboard. Sheeesh.

He should not negotiate a damn thing with the clintons. A simple Thank You should suffice. It scares me when she says she's going to go all out for Obama (if he's the nom.... *rolley eyes*). And the thought of her/them as VP or even having a say in VP is laughable. No.

Our state governor is a woman who took two terms from the pubs, one with 60% of the vote in a reeeeed state. John Mccain's own state. I like her and she might be able to do something to save arizona from being soooo freaking red. Looooong shot on that score but it could be super sweeeet being that its mccain's state. That could be fun

Gravatar Maybe someone could ask Obama who he wants as his VEEP for the next 8 years. I see the Hillary as veep suggestion started immediately it became obvious her chance for the top spot were nil. I have seen some folks wishing for Gen. Clark...there are better generals out there if one wants to put substitute warmonger for hillary and Israel in the second slot.
Some governors and a few ex-candidates are available that might bring an electoral vote or two more into the total wipeout of the republican party this fall.
The dem gov of Montana looks good to me. So does Sibelius. Whoever is picked it should be someone immediately replaceable in their current slot with another strong dem.
And truthfully it will be a pleasure to see the last of the clinton/bush team anywhere near the white house for the next 8 years. I would have preferred it be Ron Paul taking the white house but that is not likely.

Gravatar Hillary won't take the VP slot. She's all about the power, and she knows that Obama isn't going to let the Naval Observatory run the show like Dumbya did. She also knows that, racist snipers being such an unreliable commodity, Obama will serve out both of his terms in good health. The Senate seat provides her with an opportunity to build more power in the legislative branch, and with the bitter ability to thwart President Obama at every turn. It's an easy decision for her.

Gravatar Obama-Clinton equals one giant sellout, for all of the people who've supported him.

And Desert Rat's right; the only thing more appealing to bush, McCain, and the GOP than having Hillary on the top spot, is to have Obama break wind out of his ears, and pick her for his veep.

Republican ad: (Left over from their "admiring" hope that she would win the nomination):

"Do the american people really want to put Bill Clinton back in the White House?"

It WILL play in Peoria.

But, it aint gonna happen. :o)

Gravatar "If Obama picks Hillary he will also get Bill."

Ding ding ding.

Sebelius or McCaskill are leaps and bounds better choices -- both talented, loyal, would bring added value geographically and/or would help with women voters. And no/little baggage.

This is a no brainer.

HRC needs to go back to the Senate and focus on keeping her NY seat. She's got a lot of fence mending to do with African American voters and progressive voters of all stripes, I would imagine.
