these guys were so smart, so funny,so pissed off. saw them in a teeny venue in Philly years back. too bad the lead-brain went soft after indulging a bit too much. But they were a unique group for their time.

Madd is now living in France. Oatie is teaching Biology and Physics in Manhattan. Swayzack is MIA, who knows where. Schmoove got married. Pierce and EJ play in a folk band that just completed their fifth album.
the page also has a write up about about the very smart and smart-assed tricks of the shade cd. with the journey through-- Uncle Scam's Federally Funded Welfare & Freakshow
if you have never heard this- you should.

Going back to the old school. It took me a little while to figure out the Bush they were talking about was the other one. Ah...the perils of tracking time when dynastic idiots control the country.

I didn't realize that other people knew of this group. I bought this on casette when it came back. If I recall correctly, this was still a time when major lables occasionally put out very good rap musics. I think Columbia/Roughhouse had a nice string of releases for a while... Cypress Hill, The Goats, Tim Dog...

You don't know how much you made my day by posting a link to the goats. My short answer is they are the best loved their song, Georgie Bush Kids.

I do not like being yelled at like that. Is too mean, not enjoyable. *blush*

Every once in a while a cultural phenomena happens that just baffles me. I can intellectually understand the why it is hip factor, but otherwise it is a massive ho-hum. I have to put much of Rap into that category. I felt the same way upon the introduction of Disco... just unusual for someone who most often gets the popular cultural forms of America.

Mrytle June,
That was one of the popular styles for rap videos around '92/'93.
