I don't have anything intelligent to say about the Tour, but thank you, Jesse, for taking the time to write out these long, detailed, and, most of all, dramatic posts for us. This is a really fun way to keep up with the Tour.

Yes, Jesse - I, too, want to thank you for the effort you put into the daily updates. No cable and an hour behind you in AK - you're my daily TDF fix.

I also would like to thank you for the running commentary. Too bad you can't post during the race because your write-ups read so much like the race and I would love to follow as I don't have a TV.
Thanks !

Reading these posts is like watching the race without dealing with an alarm clock.
Thanks, Doc!

Astute readers will recall that I postulated this down in the Dr. Richard "Dick" Cremona post comments section.
This is the first I've heard of any current or former administration official coming forward with the idea.
You heard it here first.

Jesse Wendel--
Sorry to get off topic, but as a victim this has got me SUPER pissed.
The Tour posts are great.
All--
Read the whole thing. If you're not screaming "Impeach, Indict, Imprison" by the end I don't know what's wrong with you.

Just realized that the article is dated July 4th.
I swear I didn't read a word until a half-hour ago.

I feel for Vinokourov. Had the breakaway not been so far ahead with so little distance left to the finish line, the peloton would have slowed for him to catch up. Such is the strange protocol of cycling, where the riders won't let a favorite like Vino lose the Tour because of an accident, if it can be helped.
But this time, it couldn't be helped. The peloton had to catch up with the break. And that meant leaving Vino behind. Very tough luck.
I wonder what's going on with Sastre. He's got a strong team, and he was my personal pick to win the whole thing. Did the hills bother him? It's hard to imagine that anything short of an hors categorie would perturb him.
