Look, McCain had to choose the most appropriate person to run the Republican convention. And really, there are only so many Beltway shills who are also recognized experts in both soft-pedalling fascist regimes and pleasing oilmen.

Another optics goose-egg for the GOP foot-shooter brigade.
They could always KEEP Goodyear, & run their convention the way SLORC runs Burma ... I can just see the pundits now: "wow, Tom, the mass execution of the Ron Paul supporters is going to be a hard act for Senator McCain to top, but if anyone can pull it off, Mr. Straight Talk can!"

I think some of the RP supporters might shoot back. LOL.
Johnny Freeride ha the same sort of knack for making friends that al Queda does.
BTW, I'm going to steal "Johnny Freeride". It's just too beautiful not to re-use.

You funny man. :o)
Oh. And this morning, McCain's saying that free-market economics will solve the global warming crisis.
That's really funny...in a black-humor kind of way.

Has anybody mentioned the Stupidity Factor along with the obvious evil?
I was just thinking about the moral non-equivalences that are so popular these days. Suppose some candidate had hired a PR firm that had worked for the freely elected legitimate constitutional head of the government of, say, Venezuela. (A man whom I regard as a dodgy sort, over-ambitious and over-reaching for personal power, but hey, that does not keep him from being the felchog of a sovereign state with which we do business.)
This obviously is not any kind of mirror-image or in any way disreputable. And of course he/she would be torn to shreds by the press. And to some extent, that would be deserved: it would show up the candidate as an idiot. Do you ever ask any questions of the people you hire for conspicuous jobs? Do you care about political considerations? Duhh.
Not that McFreeload's stupidity is news. This is just a reminder of how bad it is.
