Like Signoreille, I'm a BAD queer in that I'm a huge fan of "outing" closeted queers. Not that I exactly want Drudge in my "club." But he maintains real power in the GOP by remaining closeted. It appears that quite a few Aussies despise New Idea for publishing that story. Good for them.
But Matt Drudge deserves to be submerged up to his nostrils in caustic butyl mercaptan laced slime for hyping it. If he hadn't pulled that shabby little trick, it might have gotten buried the way it deserved.
And picking on Prince Harry pisses me off no end. I'm no great fan of the Royals, and still less of the House of Windsor. I also think Harry is a bit off his rocker.
But he puts himself in harm's way when nobody would so much as say "boo" if he didn't. And he knows the cost of courage when he sees it paid, as Drudge never will. I wish more of our own aristos were like Harry. If they were, I wouldn't despise them the way I do.

Uh, no Jen, he's third. The ranking of those in line to succeed Queen Elizabeth are 1) Prince Charles, 2) elder brother Prince William, and only then 3) Harry. Doesn't mean he couldn't get the throne; it's happened before. But the odds are against it.
And as always, the final thought comes after one has hit Publish. Namely, that your comment, Jen, points up how much Charles has slipped out of the public mind. It would be the crowning bitter irony of his life if Charles, having waited over sixty years for the throne, should get it only to find nobody cares. All the public wants is for him to kick off so glamor boy Wills can take over and we can have a real show!

not to pick nits, but harry's the third in line, he's neither the heir nor the spare, also, according to the british rumour mill his parentage is questioned. the stable boy and stuff. . .harry does not look like a windsor in the slightest. he's very spencer, but also very something else. usually the windsor genes exert themselves in the noses and the ears (of course, the windsor genes are really saxe-coburg-gotha genes but why split hairs and and infinitives in the same comment?)
