I'm with Mrs. McCabe.
How dare a man seeking the most stressful, the most unpredictable, the most mentally and emotionally draining, and the most full-of-often-very-unpleasant-surprises position in the world be nonchalant in the face of adversity?
Where in the hell does he get off being calm under fire or unflappable in the face of adversity?
(Is it elitist of me to be a little bit gratified that Mrs. McCabe wasn't able to raise children?)

I read her story. I see why she identifies with Hillary's victimness. The problem she doesn't see, can't see, is that the clintons' and the bushs' whole way of being thrives on this subjugation of the human spirit. It's not easy to not remain a victim when life keeps handing you shitty circumstances. She sees herself as a victim, but I don't. I think she's person of strength and power. If only she did, she would not be concerning herself with a fucking flag pin or jealousy over Obama's story. I mean if anyone has more to worry about than a flag pin, it is this woman.
Yes, ABC NEWS IS OVER. Fuck them and CNN is running a REAL close second to their shenanigans. We do have to remember these people are very much invested in the staus quo of DC. They's IN the bubble and sweeps is just a few weeks away. Gotta generate some bruhaha or other for thaaaaat. fuckers.

National flags are made to be burnt in demonstrations. That their only use, bar none.
Now I'll try to be nice with this woman, but despite the crap she got during her life, she still sounds at best totally uninformed, at worst terminally stupid. It's Obama who had to start from close to nothing and to rise at the top, when Clinto got most things handed over to her, with her at least moderately wealthy family and an ex-president husband.

White, Boomer, female, and espousing the politics of bitter victimhood ... you couldn't find a better example of Hillary's core demographic if you tried.
And ABC News tried, you betcha.
"I mean if anyone has more to worry about than a flag pin, it is this woman."
This is the pass that the DLC (Hillary's wing) has brought many working-class Dems to: voting against their own interests, just as working-class Republicans have been doing for 25 years.

honestly i am one that takes respect for the flage seriously(i have no problem with flag burnign as a protest, but if you are not portestign the country you must respect the falg) that is what pisses me off so much abotu the lapel pin
artical 176(d) of the flag code
(d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery
artical 180
The Secretary of Defense is also authorized and directed to approve a design for a service lapel button, which button may be worn by members of the immediate family of a person serving in the armed forces of the United States during any period of war or hostilities in which the Armed Forces of the United States may be engaged.
US falg standardes of respect (these are more informal)
The flag should not be used as a drapery, or for covering a speakers desk, draping a platform, or for any decoration in general
The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose
The flag should not be used as part of a costume or athletic uniform, except that a flag patch may be used on the uniform of military personnel, fireman, policeman. (exemptions are made for groups like the boyscouts as well)
the fucking lapel pins are disrespectful and unpatriotic, any one wareing them has no respect from me. same wit hthe asswholes who distroy the flage by flyign them on their care...unamerican facist jerks the lot of them.

it has been the standard republican lie. they tell it over and over and it gets bought every time. they scream for "deregulation" claiming that government interference stifles competition and then as soon as the regs are lifted or relaxed they consolidate and merge in ways that would make a stalinist proud.
radio? deregulate so that we can have competition on the airwaves. result? six mega providers now decide who and what you listen too.
tv? deregulate so that the cable industry can have competetition and lower prices. two or three providers divide the nation up into small, nearly fuedal fiefdoms of zero competition and prices have increased 120% over the last two years.
energy? deregulate and let the marketplace set the prices, it will be lower. result? enron fucks california like ron jeremy on viagra.
abc/disney/universal is a monolithic entity. they are big enough that they really don't give a shit what or how we think.

Good job, Hub. That's perzackly what it was.
Watching the media try to ignore all of the bloody fuckups of the bush administration, and the latex positioning and idiocy of Straight-Talk-McCain's campaign statements, and as ABC, Fox, etc., shove a red, white, and blue, proctoscope up Barack Obama's ass, is wondrous to behold.
At issue is if they can do enough of it to, in the voters minds, cancel out the reality of what is happening here, and in Iraq.
I tend to think not.

Yeah, and the talk-radio knuckle-draggers are still trying to push that Republican Noise Machine talking-point that the criticism of the debate is coming from "bitter" liberal elitism. If they're hearing what they describe, then it's because informed voters are tired of willfully ignorant mouth-breathers who probably think the stork brings babies setting the tone of the national discourse.

This moronic lapel-flag bullying always reminds me of Kramer at the AIDs march on "The Sponge" episode of "Seinfeld":
KRAMER: [signing in with AIDS march starting line]: Uh ... Cosmo Kramer?
ORGANIZER: Uh ... ok, you're checked in. Here's your AIDS ribbon.
KRAMER: Uh ... no thanks.
ORGANIZER: You don't want to wear an AIDS ribbon?
KRAMER: No.
ORGANIZER: But you HAVE to wear an AIDS ribbon.
KRAMER: I have to?
ORGANIZER: Yes.
KRAMER: See, that's why I don't want to.
ORGANIZER: But everyone wears the ribbon. You MUST wear the ribbon!
KRAMER: You know what you are? You're a ribbon bully. [walks away]
ORGANIZER: Hey you! Come back here! Come back here and put this on!
[later, during the march ...]
MARCHER 1: Hey, where's your ribbon?
KRAMER: Oh, I don't wear the ribbon.
MARCHER 2: You don't wear the ribbon? Aren't you against AIDS?
KRAMER: Yeah, I'm against AIDS. I mean, I'm walking, aren't I?
MARCHER 3: Who do you think you are?
MARCHER 1: Put the ribbon on!
MARCHER 2: Hey, Cedric! Bob! This guy won't wear a ribbon!
[BOB and CEDRIC, an antagonistic and intimidating couple from a previous episode, swing around]
BOB: WHO? Who doesn't want to wear the ribbon?
[still later ... ]
BOB: So, what's it going to be? Are you going to wear the ribbon?
KRAMER : No, never.
BOB: But I am wearing the ribbon. He is wearing the ribbon. We are all wearing the ribbon! So, why aren't you going to wear the ribbon?!
KRAMER : This is America! I don't have to wear anything I don't want to wear!
CEDRIC: What are we gonna do with him?
BOB: I guess we are just going to have to teach him to wear the ribbon!
[KRAMER runs for a fire escape, but the mob of MARCHERS pulls him down as he screams]
[even later, JERRY and GEORGE are waiting at the finish line ...]
JERRY: Oh, I told him he'd never make it. He was up all night! Oh my God ... Kramer?
[a beat-up KRAMER staggers towards them. He collapses at their feet]
JERRY: Look at you! [to GEORGE, in disgust] I told you ... up all night playing poker. Come on.
[JERRY and GEORGE turn to leave, then GEORGE pauses and turns back]
GEORGE: Hey, where's you AIDS ribbon?
I suggest that, from now on, we call the two fuckwits who moderated the ABC debate "Bob and Cedric."

Guess I should be the perfect Hillary demographic: female, mid-40s, feminist, educated, working mother.
I had many jobs, and during my graduate studies, where I was surrounded by men (and MEN, if you get my drift). I've experienced everything that goes on in that kind of workplace.
So how come Hillary leaves me cold? It's the triangulation, stupid ... and the expectation that the Oval Office is hers because it's time.
We've all served our time in one way or the other. However, some things in life need to be earned by your own blood, sweat and tears. Hill does not meet that criterion IMHO.
I was an Edwards supporter because he spoke to my populist roots. Am not an Obamamaniac, though Barack brings a lot to the table. But HRC - no way. She has not earned my vote.

Me again. I'm back after reading Mrs. McCabe's back story at HuffPo.
So it's not really about lapel pins. It's that Barack has had it too easy in life, gliding from a Hawaiian prep school to and Ivy League school, etc. etc. Whereas Hillary has "struggled" to get where she is.
Guess growing up half-black without a father in America is just a walk in the park.
Ms McCabe and her husband have been dealt a tough hand in the card game of life. Can someone tell me exactly how Hillary's campaign trail promises will help them?

from move on.org today
Great news. Our campaign asking the media to focus on the big issues—not trivial "gotcha" politics—is picking up some major steam.
We set a goal of 100,000 petition signers—and doubled that goal in less than 24 hours! Plus, news media from the Washington Post to Reuters to ABC World News itself reported on the backlash and our petition.
Today, we're designing an ad to increase the pressure on ABC, and we're planning to run it on ABC's own website! The ad will include the message of our petition and the number of signatures—and we want that number to be as high as possible.
Can you help us get a quarter-million signatures on the petition by signing the petition and then sending this email to your friends? Click here to sign:
http://pol.moveon.org/enoughdist...9542-p0_J4C&
t=4
The petition says: "Debate moderators abuse the public trust every time they ask trivial questions about gaffes and 'gotchas' that only political insiders care about. Enough with the distractions—ABC and other networks must focus on issues that affect people's daily lives."

Last time I checked, ABC is broadcasting over the airwaves and electro-magnetic spectrum owned by the American public.
This kind of crap on the terrestial networks will continue until the American people demand their airwaves back and re-institute the fairness doctrine.
Of course, we could also just turn off the TV altogether!
As for ABC News, Charely and George can go "Cheney"-themselves.

Serving Patriot -- I have mostly turned off the tv years ago -- we watch exactly one program (alas, it is on ABC, just about the only station we get, since we do not get cable for the tv). How much farther can one go than not watching? What is the next step? If I wanted to boycott their advertisers, I'd have to watch to know who they are.
How do you send a message to ABC? There was no "contact" on their website.
