OFF TOPIC: SCAM ALERT!
Speaking of people who suck, some scammer is sending an e-mail saying your PayPal account will be suspended yadda yadda if you don't renew your information.
I suspected a scam, but I clicked the link to examine the site more closely and Firefox immediately fingered it as a scam. Mad props to our peeps at Mozilla!
Question: should the scammer have his skin removed with a belt sander or a rusty cheese grater?
We really need an "evil grin" smiley.

Squeaky voices, the Nora Jones pop chantreuse's.
Bleah.
Gimme KD Lang anyday. Lady Day too. Breathless, in the TIMELESS ways.
Frankly, gimme some really big voices like this:

v=m...feature=related
Linda Perry was a VOICE in pop music. I have HATED pop music in my lifetime, only to love it, as time goes by . . .
Linda Perry, big voice. And a producer, arranger, and more.
She was/is a hossette.
I liked her register, I liked her style, I like her art.
Where have all the Linda Perry's gone? Over the air radio is a wasteland and has been for a long time.
Internet streaming offers wonders:

Hell, there's even this one, on air, and streaming:

Grass, new, trad, and psycho. Old timey.
Acoustic. Music played by people with hands on strings.

Then go here to the set archive:

Or try this for some serious grass like stuff:

I'm just sayin. . . .
But that leaves out Goodman, Charlie Christian, Hot Club Du France, Ella, Nina Simone, Joni MItchell, Janis, Gracie, Jean Ritchie, Mellissa Ethridge, Michelle Shocked, Rhonda Vincent, and a million other jhazz and pop and rock and folk and bluegrassin folks of their times.
I'm not ALL that narrowminded . . . I just didn't really like this particular squeaky voice and her art.
Ya know?

larue, Linda Perry is now writing and producing major hits for other artists, most famously Pink, Christina Aguilera and Gwen Stefani.
She still performs occasionally.

Jpsy, yeah, I read her Wiki recently. I'm not fond of those artists, but Linda Perry has proven herself I guess in her successes beyond 4 Non Blondes One Hit Wonder . . . sure liked her, and that song she did. Inspirational, to gays AND straights . . .
A. Cit . . . eh, I'm not much of an orchestral fan.
Love me some Segovia, Narcisco Yepes, Ferrer, even a just a HINT of Christopher Parkening (but not much), Villegas.
And I was an NPR local host, long ago.
And yeah, as was posted above, Dinah Washington is the bomg. Totally. *G*
I'll lighten up, someday.
But there's SO many windmills to tilt . ..
