Who needs prayer when you have access to the best medical care there is?
If this had been the end of Mukasey, how great a legacy would it have been to have died while making a speech defending torture and indefinite detainment?

Last update related that he was awake and alert.
Could have been the food they gave him - you know, Federalist Society, don't believe in any regulations (including food safety) ...

Why is it so easy for me to go immediately to Karma/Divine retribution on this one?

Wengler is correct! text of his speech. So great they posted it twice!
I hope the doctors treat him according to the principles of medicine known at the time of Hippocrates or Galen. Either that or fly in the Gitmo docs who determine how much "interrogation" a prisoner can stand per session. Only the best for our AG!

Thanks, this is the last paragraph of the speech he was able to give:
"And I am hopeful that some time from now, after the next Administration has had the chance to review the decisions made and the legal advice provided, it will acknowledge that despite any policy differences, the national security lawyers in this Administration acted professionally and in good faith and that the country was safer as a result."
He repeated "as a result" three times and then collapsed.

While I think Mukasey and the criminals who appointed him are the lowest of the low, I do have sympathy for him in this instance only because a while back a similar thing happened to me (fainting in a public place while talking to a bunch of people). It's scary. maybe this experience will cause him to see why defending the Bush Crime Family isn't good for one's health or karma.

so, the attorney general was speaking to a group of rich, republican social conservatives who have a published goal of twisting the constitution to further enrich themselves and subjugate the majority of our nation under their own theocratic rule and his brain explodes.
apt.

I have myself had a stroke which caused me to collapse and bust my face open on the pavement.
I have no (that's zero, zip, nada) sympathy for this vile shitbag of a political hack.
May he be left paralyzed and aphasic for the rest of his foul life.

I may be a bad person, but all I can think of is this quote from the original Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy (1981):
"Grunthos was reported to have been "disappointed" by the poem's reception, and was about to embark on a reading of his 12-book epic entitled "Zen and the Art of Going to the Lavatory", when his own major intestine, in a desperate attempt to save lifekind, leapt straight up through his neck and throttled his brain."
