while we need mroe femal reps. we also need more polititions of all minority groups. I don't think the identity politics games played by emilies list makes it a good group to send money to. IF they stop promoting racist and antismetic canadates. if they stop sendign out racist and antismetic fliers I will think about supportign them.

I wish there was an alternative to Emily's List because Donna Edwards is the exception not the rule with the candidates that they support and I'm not just talking about race.
Baltogeek is right. Donna's a good lady; worthy of progressive support across the board, but I'd like to know more about this group before I jump on their train. Were they a front for Hillary? If so, it's a big strike against them, in my book.
When Clinton releases her delegates, I'll stop asking questions like this.

Well, they have been around quite a while and supported many candidates I also liked. It is like actblue actually. If you go into their pages instead of the general fund, you used to be able to donate to a specific candidate.
But the criticism is valid. Being overseas I have not paid as much attention to some of their state races. They were for Hillary, but not a front for Hillary as they have been around way longer than that. AND they do support both Darcy Burner and Did support Donna Edwards.
I appreciate the good work they've done like their support of Darcy and Donna. but it doesn't surprise me that they've been blinded by the single-issue into not seeing the larger picture...I think the nature of groups like that must be changing, because the folks who see the larger picture and balance that with the concerns of a constituency are going to win, in the long run.
as playing devil's advocate... is this another case of us on the fruitless quest for the perfect instead of the possible? There is truly so little support for female candidates running for office. Should we not embrace that part of the org. and then push from within for better candidates.
Emily's list does not just represent liberal america but also the center. And though we don't like the center-- they are better than the right (except for people like Lieberman and Carney)

there are good canadates of every gender/race/ethnicity/religion. I will fund them directly, the biggots are not on our side, they may seem to be allied with us, but replaceing on authoritarian crew with another is not progress.
