Oh....
I'm SO HUNGRY now.
Must Eat Waffle. With Blueberries. And possibly those red berries whose name I can't remember but that I LOVE, so YUMMY. With cream which is totally whipped.
Plus the best bacon in the world.
And a Coke Cola.

Waffles (whole grain for me), bacon and a Coke. My idea of bliss.
I meant to say at the end of this post so will add here, I'd LOVE to hear anyone else's pasta recipes, especially sauces. Put 'em in comments.

My favorite pasta dish is carbonara, especially if it is made with real pancetta, cracked black, and great cheese.

One of my favourite pasta dishes and a reminder that the simple things are often the best: spaghetti con aglio e olio.
Just some fresh pasta, decent olive oil, garlic and a few chili flakes... yummy goodness!

Oooh, carbonara (groan) -- tha best.
And just plain pasta with olive oil and garlic, isn't that what fed the Roman legions? People forget that the "main grain" of each region in the world (wheat for breads, barley, rice, potatoes) were, in their original form, almost a complete food unto themselves. It wasn't just that poor people could not afford much else, it's that they didn't NEED much else (veggies and a little protein) to engage in long days of manual labor while producing the next generation. These carbs, of course, were unprocessed and intact.
From friends of mine who can get their hands on whole raw milk, they say the same is true of it: A near complete food. For those of European ancestry who can digest it, that is.
