I served on Swift Boats as an advisor to a Vietnamese crew, on one occasion we did insert seals on cam ton Island along the cui dia river and then waited for them to return, we did'nt exchange any information on the operation. This was in I Corp in 1971 just South of Da Nang

I served on PCF-35 in 1969 running the rivers and canals in the Mekong Delta out of An Thoi and from Operation Seafloat.
The part about Cambodia is for sure a lie but we did take SEAL teams where they needed to go occasionally, insert them, extract them, and sometimes just monitor the radio to hear them key the mike every hour.
We would usually pick them up at Operation Seafloat. One team even lost a top secret radio over the side one day (you probably don't want to hear that) and we spent a lot of hours sitting dead in the water while they dove looking for it.
They put on quit a production getting ready as we cruised up the rivers. It was interesting to watch. And we knew when we took them somewhere it probably wasn't going to any fun when we got there.

Ref: The Article "SEALS & SWIFTBOATS" which erroneously states, "Furthermore, neither myself or my father in law knows anyone who was inserted anywhere by a swift boat during Vietnam. It just wasn't done. It wasn't something SEALS wanted, and it wasn't something Swifties did." (Sic).
For the record, I was the LPO of SEAL Team ONE MIKE Platoon based out of Cat Lo and SEAFLOAT (Tran Hung Dao III) Nam Can Peninsula September 1969 through March 1970. Me and members of my platoon, as well as previous and subsequent SEAL Platoons, operated extensively off Swift Boats from SEAFLOAT. The Swift Boats were also used by the SEAL Advisor (Frank Flynn - now deceased) and his Kit Carson Scouts. It is true we (SEALS) had an MST detachment; but often we used the Swift Boats because we knew our SEAL support craft and their routines were being watched. We also used indigenous sampans, and USA/USN HAL Det. helicopters. The professional and often heroic Swift boat crews at SEAFLOAT never shirked when I asked for their support and trust me, I took them into harm's way on many occasions.
I understand political passions and respect your right to state your opinion(s). But your "over-the-top" assertions in this article are not even remotely true. Next time better check with the NSW Historian at WARCOM. He was my AOIC and served at SEAFLOAT too.
