Matthew, a friends son was a guard in the Clinton Whitehouse. From what we heard of the Clinton administrations treatment of military personell, we're lucky to have a military at all.Thank God we have a President now, that understands the talents and skills of Specops.Breaking news: Robert Redford just said on BBC he'd move to London, or Ireland if Bush wins. Need help packing Mr. Redford?

I have a son in the Navy. He was just home on weekend leave with a shipmate in tow. I asked the friend what he thought of JFK. His answer was "He scares the hell out of me."

As a VietNam vet (Frst Bat Fifth Marines) I know that a Navaal Tour of Duty as 13 months *not* 3 months and two and a half weeks! Kerry is a coward who ran out on his crew long before his tour of duty was completw. I repeat JFK is a coward who ran out on his crew, now wonder Swift Vets ar mad at him. If he had been a Marine I would have killed him myself!

And at least as bad as deserting his crew, he slandered, libelled and undercut his comrades in arms, further demoralized and endangered those held as POWs, undercut diplomatic efforts to end the war and insulted the character of every person in the American uniform...too bad that lone Viet Cong teenager didn't have a mess of his buddies waiting in that village.

A-freakin'-men!

The other thing that President Bush does is think of America first. He constantly puts the needs of the US ahead of politics. Bush doesn't do a very good job of bragging up all the accomplishments we've had in the past 4 years. This is especially important with our hostile press and the "other side" actively rooting for America's defeat.

I am interested in your thoughts about the reference to Seals in one of the letters...

Thank you! It's about time we started talking about the demise of UBL. I know that, had he survived Tora Bora (or wherever he met his end) he would have surfaced on Al Jazeera by now. Great post!

Reading blogs such as this & listening to talk radio keeps me sane during these insane times. Thanks to all who have served our country....

Nice

Great Job and thanks for your service.

Well, said my friend! I do take issue with the WMD issue however. Fallujah is yet to be explored and until it is the WMD issue is still debatable. We erred in April when this should have been done. Now, however we have another chance to look around and this Marine believes we will find more than "terrorist" safe houses! The concept of better late than never may not be applicable here - we won't be able to look around until after the election. The pointy tip of the sword is always found in the most secured and prized location.

I remember watching the BUD/S Training documentary on Discover Times; the voice over script reader alluded to the fact that many SEALs had indeed left, for just the reason you cited, Matt.

BTW, I remember two chiefs who were company commanders in RTC, NTC, Orlando in spring of '75 who were SEALs; I don't remember either one ever raising his voice toward his company of recruits. But they always seemed to quake with fear. As a battalion yeoman, I had the pleasure to interact with all the CCs in the 8th Bn, and those two chiefs were by far the least intimidating (so far as actions, yelling, &c). Yet they commanded authority, just by taking up space and breathing air. Kind of like our current Commander-in-Chief (who, I certainly hope, will remain so for another four years).

Thank you for your service, Matt; and thank you for continuing serving, just by blogging on the issues that are most important now.

Jim

Jeez I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this all through the 90's. I claim no great military knowledge. I'm only 29. But I remember screaming at the television so often about Clinton's weak ass foreign policy. These guys clearly were escalating, spitting in Clinton's face again and again and he just smiled. You could just feel, smell, taste it: he would never do anything. Like any brutal person, they knew it too.

Bush poses a unique threat to the Islamo-Fascists: He's not afraid of them.

They have been allowed by previous presidents like Clinton and Carter to labor under the illusion that the US was a toothless tiger.

Bush, to his credit, gave short shrift to "world opinion" and acted -decisively.

Now we must stay the course by re-electing him. The fraud and coward Kerry is in no way fit to be commander in chief of this nation. The very thought makes me sick.

No offense, folks, but if you aren't actively doing something to insure that Bush gets re-elected all this blogging is a waste of time and trons.

You need to contact your local campaign headquarters and ask them what you can do. Phone banks, doorbelling, poll watching, giving rides to voters to get them to the polls. Your state might not be a swing statistically, or it could be a BLUE (AS IN FALCON) state, but we still need to get every single Bush vote recorded.

Hugh Hewitt's book, "If It Isn't Close They Can't Cheat" is fact. Another fact - they are cheating any way, everywhere.

If we don't stop them now, it's Kerry, Kerry, Clinton, Clinton every four years.

If you're active duty, you can help the campaign off duty. If you are a reservist (like me) you can do all of the above. (Hatch Act)

Some of you have risked your life for this country and lost friends. Don't let the Presidency fall into Kerry's control.

(Ok, NOW roll the scene from 'animal house' with John Belushi)

I agree. Please get involved. Go to your local Republican Party Headquarters and get a Bush/Cheny yard sign. Volunteer on a phone bank if you have time. If nothing else, put a W bumper sticker on your car. Buy a rubber stamp with a pro Bush or pro life or pro God or pro America slogan and stamp all your out going mail. Please do something! 3000 New Yorkers died plus a plane load in a farmer's field and more at the Pentagon and now in Iraq... Its up to us to make sure their lives have counted in death at least as much as they did in life. Please.

Thank you for your service first off. I have a son in law in Iraq right now with a tranportation unit out of Akron, Ohio. His wife ,my daughter
just gave birth to their first child in July. I am very proud of him and all of the young men and women over there. I am also proud of the job this President is doing, I know he will be re-elected, the thought of Kerry winning to me is unthinkable, besides being very scary lol. Again thank and you, and all that serve their country. God Bless You all

Ahhh I see you and I have the same template. I found your blog on Hugh Hewitt's site. It's great, by the way. Hope you stop by and took a look at mine. Tata

Right on RB! Working towards the Bush/Chaney re-election is the key! I served in Vietnam & Desert Storm and that was not enough! I served 30 years in the USMC - that was not enough! I now volunteer at the Bush/Chaney HQS helping to get these men re-elected. One thing in addition to RB's suggestions - get your check book out and give until it hurts! Its easy to yak on the blogs and support but money and your time will get the job done (and ya just might met some very good people).

Absolutely awesome. After spending the 90's in SF, I had the chance to work with Seal teams in San Vito, Bosnia and Kosovo. I agree, finally getting to do our stuff in Iraq made me forget the clinton years for awhile. However, seeing and hearing kerry makes me think that clinton was a hawk. I've retired but I still have family and friends that work on the dark side, and they/I still love Rumy, the first take no sh** defense secretary in a long time. Keep the faith, SOF is the way and the light...
