I again am in 100% agreement and have been trying to do this for 50 years. As the old Indian Killer Honest Abe said 160 years ago "Freedon is *NOT* free" My emphasis.

Hi,

Whilst I largely agree with the sentiments expressed in your post I would point out that WW2 didn't begin at Pearl Harbor.

Regards,

Jules.

Jules,

It did for America, and without America many of us believe Europe would be all German now and the Japanese would have run amok over too many of us.

While we're at it, let's not forget those who fought in the "Forgotten War" (Korea) and Vietnam. They're also deserving of our thanks.

Minor nitpick - it was 63 years ago, not 53.

Here Here!

We were very lucky the Japanese chickened out and did not send in a second wave at Pearl Harbor to hit the drydocks and the oil bunkers - these items let us win the Coral Sea and Midway.

As the daughter of a Pearl Harbor survivor (my dad was on the USS San Francisco 12/7/41), I just want to say thank you for this post remembering that horrible, horrible day. I hope and pray that lessons learned that day will never be forgotten, nor the brave men and women who fought through that hell.
