Wow!
(You cannot) SUPPORT THE TROOPS!
(If you don't) SUPPORT THE MISSION!

And for God's Sake, SUPPORT THEIR COMMANDER CHIEF and OUR PRESIDENT!!

That is seriously on target. Thank God I live in an intelligent place like Jacksonville, Fl., where we honor and respect the military, and those who chose not to, can chose to live somewhere else. I've never seen a serious protest, outside of the odd bunch of screwballs in the avant garde part of town. People that talk that trash, are all a bunch of blithering idiots, and we should all hope they don't get a chance to pass their stupid genes on to the next generation.

Perfect.

Linked.

You took the words right out of my mouth

Well said.

One of the talk-radio guys here in PHX has said the "I support the troops, but not the war" arguement is like saying "I support the Diamondbacks [or your favorite baseball team], but hate the game of baseball." It only serves to alleviate some lefty-guilt, yet at the same time, it makes no sense on its face.

Well said. I am grateful for those who are counter protesting.

In my book they have always been seditous traitors.

lt

Strong, Steadfast and Powerful words, by a Tall standing, powerful and intelligent warrior – just like all the men and woman serving. I hope these words see more than the light of day on a newspaper, just maybe they can convince an air headed protester to open his/her eyes and smell the coffee (the troops need everybody’s support and that Mr. Bush is a man making difficult decisions with the capability of standing by them and supporting his men and woman in the field of war!!!!)

To my fellow bloggers facing the wrath of Mother Nature, my prayers are with you and your families.

God Bless

Well said. I think these people are loosing groud at least here in Florida.

I believe they are the loud, rude minority, and it is time for the majority to speak louder than them. We did it in November, remember how great it felt on 3 Nov. 2004

I know it is hard to be loud, but now is the time to do it, in support of our soldiers.

Froggy,

Any way you could delete that last message. (FROM EUROPE) I really have no desire to read some America-Hating European's comparison of the chief's comments to Nazi theories.

This person's comments are once again proof that the leftist MSM is convincing the world that, despite the benefits achieved by the invasion of Iraq, we were wrong to invade.

As to the claim that Bush lied, I'm only going to say this once. After that, they're just blowing smoke. BUSH DIDN'T LIE. He may have been given faulty information, but Bush didn't create the intel that "proved" the existence of WMD's. He was given that intel and made his decision based on that intel. The intel at this point has been proven faulty, but Bush cannot be impeached for lying because he didn't lie.

I find it revolting how people with basic freedoms will criticize the U.S. when it provides those same freedoms to another country. One in which the government had quite literally raped, tortured, and subjugated the populace.

Matt,

What James said.

I live in one of the most protest-happy places in the world...Puerto Rico...(these folks come to protests for the Coors Light and pinchos; remember the Vieques fiasco?) and I've not seen the first "anti-war" protest. They may be out there, but they stay the hell away from any place Sailors/Soldiers/Vets might show up. The press here is as bad as in the States, but the people still buy us drinks and shake our hands (even us gringos). I'll be in JAX next month, if I'm not in Mississippi or Nawleans helping out, and I hope I run across some of these idiots protesting my service and my brothers and sisters still over there.

To – from Europe!

Just one question mate, who saved your ass from the Nazi’s? Ignorance is a painful sickness, brought on by filling your head with BS. Now go and slap all this silliness out of your thick skull.

Wonderful letter! Thanks for posting it Froggy!

OUTSTANDING! The majority of Americans do not buy into the left wing rantings or their MSM propagandist shills. I suggest you do not dignify their guilt-ridden, Anti-American demonstrations with a second thought.

God bless our country, God bless George Bush, and God bless you and all our other heroes standing up to the tyranny of Islamic tyranny.

Amen.

and regarding your service in Afganstan & Iraq

BRAVO ZULU

Very passionate letter. But I believe like all of the issues in this country...we are further polarizing things. That "majority" this service man speaks of is one predicated by less than 2%. The election was 51 to 49. That is as close as it gets. Clearly this country is split very much down the middle.

And to be honest I am ashamed that this country is not allowed to have any level of debate on such a critical issue as the lives and resources of her citizens. It is appauling to think that things that are as important as war and foreign policy can be controlled by less than 10 people in our government...and the 49% who disagree have to just take it.

I served as well...and I would do so again if possible...but I served for all of the rights of our country. Yes...it is a Republic...but the root of that term is Representative...something that our present Neo-Con controlled goverment is not...representative of any other view but their own.

And sadly I see no change on the horizon. This country is as split about this issue as they are on everything. And to claim some sort of "moral" high ground because half of the country feels a different way is just ludicrous.

Patriotism is a great thing. The citizens of Nazi controlled Germany were patriots too. So were the citizens of Imperial Japan. Am I comparing Neo-Con America to those two debacles of governemnt...maybe...maybe not. The point is that 50% of the country does not represent the whole. And it is time to justify that split...time to acknowledge it...and move on. We disagree...this whole country disagrees on everything.

I for one believe it is possible to support the troops and not the war...or the foreign policy strategies that led to it. And the arguement of sedition...however logical it is...is just that...logic. Which is up for opinion at any time and place. And can be defined and counter defined by any number of attacking logics.

Sure...to say that you support the Diamondbacks...but not baseball is a great analogy. How about this one...I support the troops but not the equipment or policies that get them killed. To support troops...and turn a blind eye to ignorance is not supporting them. To support the troops...and continue to fund programs such as the V-22 Osprey because "you support the troops" is dangerous to those that you support. Well, ignorant strategies such as spreading our religion of "democracy" to a part of the world that the very ideal of secular goverment is a spit in the face and one that alone will cause waves upon waves of hardened militants to beat down your door...is just about as productive as poor gasoline in a pen full of cows and lighting it. And not very supportive of those who have been charged with implementation of those policies.

I do support the troops...I send care packages for them and their goals in Iraq. I did wear my rucksack. But I do not support any failed strategy that will not gain the defined goals and missions that those same troops are sacrificing themselves for.

And that is my right. Use what ever logic you want to...but that is my right as an American. Use what ever symantics you want to...succumb to the lame Us vs. Them, Left vs Right, Conservative vs. Liberal, Red State vs. Blue State rhetoric that makes you feel better. But we have the right to debate the important issue of our day in the country...and as long as we have that right...we will be strong in the face of those that wish nothing more than Totalitarism upon the face of this world.

If we continue this spirit of crushing the open debate of something as important as our nations strategies...and the lives of her most precious resources...if we decide that we all most fall in line with the narrow view of the few...then we are no better than those we find ourselves at odds with on the global stage.

Instead of beating down the protesters...using remarks like sedition...we should be praising their voice. Sure...there is a right and wrong to do it...as with everything...but their voice is important.

May I give one piece of oral history which maybe deserves not to be forgotten?

By family tradition, we had one WW2 hero. Uncle Bill was an officer in Patton's army. He wasn't a hero on account of how many Germans he captured, or how many panzers he single handedly took out. Far from it. When FDR died, Uncle Bill commandeered a jeep, drove around the camp, or city, or wherever the army stood at the time, shouting "Hurrah, the old bastard's dead!". He was dishonorably discharged, and, as I say, came home to a very proud family.

Now I can't personally vouch for this; I wasn't alive at the time. But it's a fact that many Americans who were NOT nazis called it "Roosevelt's War", and didn't see much sense in fighting to save Stalin and Communism. (Seeing that we're still cleaning up that mess,I don't think they were 100% wrong, but that's another subject)

So I have to really wrestle with myself over the protests today. Part of me thinks they're nothing but traitors who should be strung up from the nearest lamp post, if the law hasn't the guts to do it. Part of me says, 'yes, but what about Uncle Bill?'

Maybe it was a different generation then. "My country, right or wrong." Well, a lot of them thought it was wrong, damnfool wrong. But they shut up and served. Some in the armed forces, some collecting tin cans, some buying war bonds. As for Uncle Bill, practically speaking in April '45 there were no more enemies left for his outburst to give 'aid and comfort ' to. Besides, he loved his country. I'm not so sure about this crowd.

OK. I think I got it worked out now.... Can somebody tell me where I can find some rope and a lamp post?

Right on! You have to love this letter! Thanks for getting it out to us!

Thank you for standing up and being a soldier, citizen , and patriot. You are the people who keep us free. "De Oppresso Liber" Ben Roberts , former Special Forces Medic.

James, the following is from Neal Boortz' blog yesterday (8-29), regarding WMD. In my opinion, Saddam and his sons WERE the Weapons of Mass Destruction, but here's the text:

WMD FOUND IN IRAQ

The media is fond of reminding us that no Weapons of Mass Destruction were ever found in Iraq. This has been the clarion call of the Democrats for a couple of years now. However, did you know that WMD were found in Iraq? Not just a couple...but lots of them. A mother who lost her son in Iraq was interviewed on Fox News had this to say: "I have seen photos of entire fighter jets buried in the sand. I have seen pictures of entire caches of weapons that just my son's unit would uncover." I wonder why we never hear much about that one? Here's also a nice little list of what was found:

-500 tons...that's right...TONS...make that 1million pounds of yellow cake uranium. It was found at Saddam's nuclear weapons facility (yup...he had one of those too.)

-1.8 tons of partially enriched uranium found at the same place. You know, the stuff you need to make nukes.

-Hidden centrifuge parts and blueprints.

-Two dozen artillery shells loaded with Sarin and mustard gas.

Sounds like WMD to me! You may want to print this off and impress your friends with your knowledge.

Disappointing that the SD Union-Tribune didn't print the letter. It was spot-on and those morons protesting outside the Del needed to have their cages rattled a bit. Thanks for sharing Froggy.

HooYah!!! Chief!!!

These dirtbags that protest our service are nothing but thankless, traitorous, treasonous butt monkeys who have ZERO clue of what would happen if we weren't fighting this war against Islamofascists elsewhere instead of downtown LA.

I would love to see your letter printed in every newspaper across this country, followed closely by other letters from other veterans everyday.

Good luck on your next deployment and God Speed.

CL,
As I'm sure you know, we don't elect presidents on popular vote. It's all well and good to quote such things, but you could just as easily count up how many people drove imported vs. domestic cars to the polls and come up with a statistic which is just as meaningless. We elect presidents on Electoral Votes. If you're stuck on percentages, Bush won with 53% of the Electoral College, to Kerry's 47%. And if you're still stuck on the popular vote numbers, what say you about Clinton's failure to get a majority of the PV? Was he not our president?

I think you're stretching to say that the 49% PV who voted for Kerry necessarily do not approve of the War. You can quote one poll or another about the public's opinion on Bush's handling of the War, but they've all got holes in them, so in the end we'd each be quoting one poll which made our point, and get nowhere. In any event, we do live in a democracy. And this means that the minority--your 49%--do have to "just take it". You don't have to be happy about it, but you do have a choice here. You can either handle this constructively by finding a way to encourage others to join your views, or you can bitch and moan about being in the minority and keep attaching your wagon to the Cindy Sheehan's of this world. [It's interesting that even John Kerry seems to know enough to distance himself from that lunatic part of the Anti-Bush crowd.]

You can disagree with every policy Bush has ever put out, but you tread on dangerous ground when you aren't able to immediately deny any connection between Bush and Hitler. And--this is just a personal thing--but everytime I see the "Neo-Con" label come out, I find my eyes glazing over. Are you comparing NeoConservatives to Nazi's?

And I guess I'll have to count myself as "ignorant" (at least in your eyes), because, you see, I am a True Believer in our "religion of democracy". I've said many times in many places that, like it or not, we are in a religious war. I don't like war, but that's not the point. I recognize that we're in one whether we like it or not. One can argue that it began in '93 (or earlier), or that 9/11 was the beginning. In any event it is clear: They want a worldwide Islamic Caliphate; we seek Freedom. And Freedom can only be ensured through democracy. Democracies are productive, and peaceful societies.

And you end by saying that we're no better than our enemies "if we decide that we all most fall in line with the narrow view of the few." Just because I think you're completely wrong about the War doesn't mean you're not free to repeat your point. No one here is crushing open debate. Has anyone been locked up? Has Cindy Sheehan been "disappeared"? And let's keep in mind one thing: You yourself said that 51% voted for Bush. Since when is a majority "the few".

Froggy, sorry for the rant. But some of this had to be said.

CL, what about that vote in the Senate and the House on going to war? If I remember, that vote in the Senate was 70 go, 30 stay. Don't we elect these Senators to vote for us? Just me, but 70% seems like that gave our President the authority to do what he did.

CL,
Let me clue you in to something. People who use the terms "nazi" and "neocon" in the same screed are known as moonbats. I don't know what kind of "service" you performed (but I suspect it involved kneepads, a $10 bill, and a hanky), but I can assure you that this Chief has put his life on the line for this nation time and time again. In the Hindu Kush mountains, the streets of Baghdad, Bosnia, S. America, you name it. He has put his money where his mouth is, while you put your mouth where the money is.

He has earned the right more than you, more than me to call these scumbags what they are...traitors. People who equate the development of military aircraft (V-22) with intentionally trying to kill US troops are moonbats.

I know for a fact that you didn't serve in the military. People who have served do not think of themselves or fellow service members as helpless victims to an evil government conspiracy to kill them. We are free thinkers and operators that CHOOSE to serve because we enjoy the work and believe that it is important. Servicemembers are not brainwashed drones serving the master, Halliburton. They are the real patriots who have carefully considered the cost of service and decided to serve anyway. Take your punk ass screed back to your shitty little site.

Amen brother! Could not have said it any better myself. Thank you for your service and keeping us ALL safe!

Froggy, never quit writing. You are powerful with your words and you delight my patriotic heart!

Splash one moonbat. oohRA Frogman!

read this esteemed frogmen.

Anon,
When have I ever said that the right had no moonbats? Why do you think the nazis are in Crawford, TX supporting Cindy et al? To confront the evil scourge of the Joooooooooooos!

CL, when veterans speak of having SERVED, they mean SERVED THEIR COUNTRY; they're not talking about tennis. If you truly did SERVE, you might remember that you SERVED at the pleasure of the Commander-In-Chief (read: President of the U.S.). I spent 10 years "poking holes in the ocean" and I might not have agreed with U.S. policy (see the Clinton years), but no one forced me to enlist. Instead of all of the mealy-mouthed bullshit spewing forth from your mouth and from the like of St. Shithat of the Ditch, you should flal on your knees eevry day and thank the Good Lord for the true patriot-warriors like the Chief.

Chief, right on! Matt, outstanding as always! I missed the hate-filled Eurotrash's screed before you yanked it, thank God. You K.O.'d CL but good.

If I had my way, all the lefties would be thrown into a big stewpot with water, chemicals, raw sewage, gators and water moccasins as some hysteria warned us would happen to New Orleans. Well I suppose it still could but let it just be the America-haters in that stew. Now that would be a sport like the Romans enjoyed. These traitors deserve nothing less.

I am so proud of Americans like the SEAL chief and all who serve, and so ashamed of the hate-America moonbats.

One more thing. Most conservatives very vocally reject and ostracize our lunatic fringe. Can't say the same about liberals and their loons.

Thanks for posting the letter. The commentors have been interesting as well.
I support our Troops in words, deeds and treasure.

Matt,

What can I add? Nothing at all. All the smart people on this blog have done a great job echoing my views.

-Steve

Thanks for publishing your friend's remarks. I've posted a link as well as the specific remarks which I will find quite useful to refer to in the future.

Froggy,

The addition of the definition of Sedition to your post is perfect.

It amazes me that someone can read what your friend (the Chief) wrote and continue to spew the BS that they do. These people just won't acknowledge what men like him do for our country. They want to whine and moan and have their few minutes of fame bashing men whose level of honor and due respect they will never be able to achieve.

Here is an idea - Maybe some of these liberals should get a free flight to Iraq or Afghanistan and bought to the front lines so to speak. Heck, even downtown Baghdad would probably be a good spot. No protection, just drop em off and let them see what happens. I would say they will be begging for a rescue in no time at all. Maybe then they would learn what it means to be an American and show some respect for the men and women that put their lives on the lines for us every day.

Chief - if you are reading this, Thank You to you and all your men. Don't let these liberal freaks get you guys down. Think of those of us out here that are behind you 100% and would be serving right next to you if we could be. We pray for all of you every day.

Rich

Froggy,

I've been out of reading for a couple weeks, just completed a 127 mile relay race!! Whew! I was anxious to get back and see what has/hasn't been said.

I need to say this though, as much as I hate too. If Kerry had been elected president, as much disdain as I have for him, I, as an American would have supported hi as my C-I-C. It just gets my goat that other folks have such HATE (makes them no different than the Nazi's in my view)....and they keep spewing forth their hate against the Bush admin.

There is no way in hell that they are supporting our troops!!

Gotta get a Chief to cout through the BS and say it like it needs to be said!
STSC(ss) Ret.

Wow! Sedition! Horrible! Is lying to the people, lying to Congress, sedition? No! But it could be called "High Crimes and Misdeanors." What's that called. Oh, impeachable offense! Something about that in the '90's as I recall. But now, when folks whose memories are longer than is comfortable, remember being lied to by Johnson et al and we end up bogged down in a, forgive the expression, quagmire, when those losers, those seditionists, tired of being lied to by their Commander In Chief about a bogus war dare to express their displeasure, now it's time to ring up the Dogs of War and cry SEDITION! Poppycock! If we can't impeach this incompetent excuse for our leader, we can at least express our disgust with him and his whole cabal.
Now, as regards your threats, how courageous and brave you are. Why, you must be a patriot. How charming!

Great Post& Comments.
Too bad the lefties will NEVER get it.

Spartee, a word of advice, if I may?

Use of the word "poppycock" is not likely to better your chances of being understood in this particular venue. These MEN with which your speak, REAL men. Try to adapt if you can, dear.

Spartee proves my point.

Well said tough guy.God bless all you Heroes!!

Spartree, I think you should excuse yourself as quickly as possible and slink out the the room. As Lorraine said, these are real men you are speaking to here. You don't appear to be worthy to lick the bottom of their combat boots.

I'm always interested in why these different moonbats (which occasionally come out to play here) always seem to have two things in common:

First, EVERYTHING is always some giant conspiracy, and they're always the undeserving, innocent victims of said conspiracies.

Secondly, it seems that the great majority of the time, "Military History according to the Moonbats" always seems to start with Vietnam.

And I really loved the comment about "impeachment". Oh yeah, that's likely to happen - NOT. That would be the most giant political error the Democratic crazies could ever make - I'm not sure they'd get 12 votes in the Senate. Personally, I think it would turn out to be pretty funny watching all those liberals like the "Chappaquiddick Swim Coach" trying to make their case....

Spartree, got to be tough these days being a crazy, far left liberal and finding yourself in a very hard world where your poor little tender feelings get bruised and abused on a daily basis. We feel your pain....

Ditto what Lorraine and Beth said. Spartree, the guys here could eat you for lunch and still be starving. Go back to your bedwetters' circle. You're not fit to lick their boots.

Matt, the paragraphs on sedition are excellent. Too bad no one on the Left has a clue what those words mean. Not a Jf'nK clue.

Moonbats, why do you come here? You like your asses whupped? 'Cause that's all you get. Why do you come where true warriors who serve and have served gather to praise and defend their country? I'll never understand that.

CL, What's the difference between 49 and 51? 51 is the higher number. If one side gets 49, and the other gets 51, the 51 side wins. That's how numbers work. One guy loses, one guy wins. Your 49% didn't make the grade, i.e. couldn't hit the mark, i.e. lost. That's why you have a contest -- to pick ONE winner.

Having to argue for and debate your ideas is not the same thing as having your dissent crushed. You may be bettered, you may be vanquished, but your dissent isn't crushed.

We girls used to get mocked for nursing grudges, taking defeat personally, and not being able to "get over it", regroup and move on. I'm sorry we've infected you guys with our girlish thinking.

Spartree,

As others have said, why are you here? I will add to that, do you realize where you are? I think not. Here is a clue and I will relate it to the "threat" that you mentioned.

I will start by saying I am NOT a SEAL but a mere civilian with the greatest respect for them and their service to our country. You are in a place where SEALs do hang out though, obviously Froggy being one himself. Having said that, if you knew anything about them you would understand Froggy's anger if he was to see his Comrades being maligned and realize why he would make the comment he did. Even as a Civilian, I understand that SEALs are fiercely loyal to each other as Team Mates (as they should be). Hmmm, maybe that is in part what gets them through the tough times when in battle.

I doubt you will get any sympathy here for your cause. You may want to find another place to express your opinions because as you have already seen, many here are sick of the BS and really don't want to read it here.

Rich

Sparetree and CL, you are nothing but a couple of BA's. You can't even contribute to the debate.

The belief that those who voted for Kerry are anti-war is assinine. The vast majority of Americans wish the war was over, but understand why we are there. The MSM doesn't help matters, but most Americans understand the Commander in Chief must do what is necessary, and that he knows better than they what that is.

Only fools like yourselves, from the ignorance of your laptop in Starbucks, would believe themselves well informed because of some internet surfing. It amazes me how you think you know more than the administration based on articles by equally mis-informed moonbats like yourselves. I don't believe I know what is right, but I believe the President knows more than me and has the integrity to make the right decision. Maybe you can't get over the fact that the last Commander in Chief couldn't figure out what the right course of foreign policy should have been because he was busy getting himself on the cover of Cigar Aficionado. Or maybe you are ignorant enough to believe all that is printed by the MSM or lefties. I don't believe all that is printed by those on the right, I take it for granted that our President wouldn't sentence 1,800 soldiers to death over nothing. He has the integrity the Clinton didn't know existed.

Just a couple of BA's

Sedition and treason are terms normally reserved for war condtions. Congress did not declare war on any entity after 9/11. They only approved military action as proscribed under the War Powers Act.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Dec...e_United_States

A full declaration of war will probably be withheld until the first WMD attack on the U.S. I'm not saying that this is good, just realistic.

I agree that we should support dissent, whether or not we agree.

But not outside a VA hospital and not in the faces of soldiers returning home from the battlefield. We can argue politics into eternity, but these guys have earned and deserved our respect and gratitude.

As I stood watching last year's St. Patrick's Day parade, the loudest cheers went to the Army's 68th Divison who just returned home and marched in the parade. Right here in the bluest spot in the nation.

Trust me, we do appreciate you guys.

Spartee,
Please (please, PLEASE) do us all a favor and keep it up with that "impeachable offenses" line you've got going. Please let the media know just how serious you are, and do your best to get Congress involved. Pester them incessantly. Whine a bunch about John Bolton, and tell us all how badly Rumsfeld is doing too. Oh, don't forget about The Patriot Act and mention Ashcroft while you're at it. That ought to really rally up the troops.

You people are a joke.

“Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and success of liberty.”

“In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility - I welcome it.”

Who said these quotes? Was it Ronald Reagan? George W. Bush? Some other Republican leader or president? No, it was John F. Kennedy. President John F. Kennedy. One of our country’s most beloved presidents and one of the Democrat’s most honored presidents. I was 10 years old in November of 1963 when he was assassinated. My parents were life-long Republicans, but when he was elected, they honored him as their president, and encouraged us to do so, also. When he was killed, we mourned. If JFK could come back today, I believe he would be very sad to see what has become of his party. It would behoove the Democrats to heed his words today. Here are some more of his timely quotes:

“I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction: ‘I served in the United States Navy.’”

“Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men.”

“I hear it said that West Berlin is militarily untenable - and so was Bastogne, and so, in fact, was Stalingrad. Any danger spot is tenable if men - brave men - will make it so.”

“Israel was not created in order to disappear - Israel will endure and flourish. It is the child of hope and the home of the brave. It can neither be broken by adversity nor demoralized by success. It carries the shield of democracy and it honors the sword of freedom.”

"There are many people in the world who really don't understand or say they don't - what is the great issue between the free world and the Communist world. Let them come to Berlin!"

“Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future.”

“The path we have chosen for the present is full of hazards, as all paths are. The cost of freedom is always high, but Americans have always paid it. And one path we shall never choose, and that is the path of surrender, or submission.”

“Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.”

WOW! This post ranks with the Kenyan post, for me! Grrrreat!

It's funny, too, that even the opposing views get printed here. I happened to go to Cindy Sheehan's post the other day through a link (I figured, what the hey) and do you know someone deleted all the right leaning comments?! But they lamented them all the same. Must have something to do with being "open minded!"

Moonbats are fundamentally uncomfortable with the US's strength; they don't see it as a plus, they are not proud of it, nor do they see how it has helped people in the global community. What is perplexing is that they do not associate our strength with their ability to have protests. If they did, they would have a modicom of respect for the military and even patriotism. Instead they think it's a disease.

Froggy, you are right about the Constitution... without the military, it would just be paper or ideas (really good ideas, but unworkable). Our financial independence coupled with our ability to defend ourselves is the only thing keeping the barbarians at the gates.

I am so looking forward to election season I cannot even believe it.

OT: be sure to call your senators if you don't like the death tax... I hear it's coming up for a vote.

"poppycock","charming"? Hey savethetreeswanker, this is an American blog, speak American.

I have a challenge for the antiwar crowd. There is a National Guard Co. now deployed to New Orleans that has just returned from Iraq. Get out your signs and cameras, get your rainbow asses down there and tell those soldiers what a bunch of idiots they are for having gone to war. Please go down and tell them how much you support them even though they were duped by a moron CINC, it will make them feel better.

Very well said indeed!

Thanks for your (and others') service, Froggy.

Also thank you for giving your friend a 'platform' for him to exercise his freedom of speech. He uses it wisely.

I leave a world of empty headed idiots every day (Work) and have friends that won't talk to me anymore (voted for Kerry)..thank God for real people out there. I do my part every day, the best I can to support our freedoms,so Thank-You for this site, it always gives me ammo I need..GOD BLESS THE MILITARY!!! and THANK-YOU!

Well said, sir, and thank you for your service.

Froggy, Once again..all I can say is thank all of you for your service, dedication, and continuing to try to educate the rest of us. Some just won't ever get it. (sigh)

What a great letter written by Chief, thanx for posting it, I mentioned it and linked it on my blog.

Oh...CL and Spartree, aka Tweedle-dumb and Tweedle-dumber, time to crawl back into the cesspool from which you spewed forth, the pond scum misses you!

Great blog Froggy...and yeah..you do have some of the best commenters around!

Bravo Zulu, Out.

Awsome letter. I could not have put into words any better. I am in the PA National Guard, and I am currently about half way thorugh a one year tour in Iraq. Prior to joining the National Guard, I spent eleven years in the Navy as an aviation electronics technician. The main reason I came to this site is that there is aguy on a message board that I frequently post on that claims to be a Navy Seal that lost an arm during Operation Redwing. I and others on the MB think that he is an imposter. This guys claims to have 20+ years in the service and has been everywhere. He even claims that he was in a adjacent barracks when the Marine barracks in Beruit was bombed. The main thing that gets in my crawl about this guy is that he is constantly slamming the Bush administration. He is as bad as anyone I have ever run into from the angry left, only he uses his "service" to authenticate his criticism. Anyway, sorry to make such a long post here, but I am looking for someone from teh SEAL world that would be interested in coming the this MB and seeing if this guy is for real or not. I can be reached by email at tnt4philly@hotmail.com Thanks, and I plan on making this site a stopping point when I get on the net.
