I'm not so sure he's wrong. He's wrong right -now-, but in five or ten years, if things keep going the way they are? We have a system where a very small portion of wealthy liberals run the legislature and law enforcement of the state. A vast majority of 'poor' immigrants (mostly illegals) are beholden to them, because they rely on the various benefits of the Empire of Social Services that is California in order to support them while they send their money back to their home nations, primarily Mexico.

Where do those services come from? From the rest of us: the people in the middle, the legitimate working class.

The problem is, we're leaving. I've ready study after study that points that out: the population isn't fluctating because we're leaving at nearly the same pace that they're coming in. The job climate is a nightmare, the society and culture are absolutely insane, it's just no place we want to live. I earn a very good hourly wage as a contractor and I can barely make my bills, which makes me a wage slave. Anywhere else, I would be able to make enough to be upper-middle class. What's so bad here? The cost of living.

We're leaving...and when enough of us are gone, the sugar daddies, where are all their social services coming from? At that point, with literal millions of Mexicans ready to take back what they're being told is theirs, yes, it'll be a massacre. That's why it won't work now, they haven't driven out people like you and I yet. But I don't think we're long for this state. It just isn't worth our while to live here, and it's just getting worse.

Are we ready to fight the battle of Los Angeles, as a nation? I hope so, because if we don't so something to eject the enemy invaders that we fondly call 'migrant workers', it's going to happen sooner or later, just like this chucklehead says.

On a related note, whatever wind that would make it into this guy's sails would be deflected if we moved up the citizenship process to allow for faster, legal, and common sense entry. The border issue doesn't get fixed because on some level we've always needed cheap labor (years ago it was the Irish and Italians that came in huge numbers, but they came through Ellis Island and it was an actual, delineated process). Once people are legal, the vast majority want a piece of the pie (homeownership, etc) because they recognize opportunity in that, especially compared to where they came from. Of course there will always be legislators that garner support for their own existence by giving away the money we let them collect from us, but still, there would be enough people moving into the country, and moving up, that a guy like this would be an outright embarrassment. I bet he already is to a lot of people.

I think more people don’t want to deal with the citizenship issue because now we have a much more expensive social system than years ago and people would necessarily take more than they at first give. But now we fight over what benefits to give illegals anyway (school, hospital care – and these things seem like we’re rewarding illegal behavior), and they don't assimilate as quickly because they are in a parallel class and can exist without speaking the language. (BTW - I am not happy about a potential mandatory class in Spanish being taught in Florida). If we moved up citizenship, required a sponsor, a showing of a job, and equally distributed family groups into areas that need them and away from areas that don't (through incentives –which would not be perfect but nothing is), I think we might assuage some of the immigrant worker issues. Of course we’d have to make stringent laws about hiring illegals at the same time. And we could expect a big, better organized fight about a hirer minimum wage. We’d have to be prepared for how not being able to hire illegals would impacts small businesses, because it would. I know, it sounds like pushing a boulder uphill but I don’t see how it is going to change unless when people come in, they have an incentive to move up. Right now they have no incentive and they take what they can get. They come here to work illegally, send the money home because there is no chance of their family coming over, and don’t ever really become part of the fabric here which has lent itself to a whole other host of issues. We tried to help Mexico so their own country could flourish more and their people would want to stay, but between corruption, crime, and incompetence, they haven’t moved forward.

We’d all also have to not patronize businesses that use illegals. That’s hard, it’s become so commonplace. Part of me wants to hire them to give them a leg up but if they don’t get to become citizens, what incentive do they have to become vested members of our country?

I think we need a wall on the border because that’s the world we live in, but I also support the right of a child who is born here to be a US citizen. I don’t want to give that up; it’s been a piece of us since the beginning, the thing that differentiates us because anyone can come here and have an opportunity. We really need to fix this issue. We aren’t assimilating as well as we used to because we stuck our collective head in the sand a long time ago on the issue of migrant workers. Just like protecting ourselves overseas, if we don’t work at making sure assimilation happens, it becomes a decrepit system. Because it’s happening in slow motion it isn’t as alarming to us but I think we better wake up.

Justin, i agree to a point with your argument; but this issue has reached critical mass and the Congress and President cannot continue to ignore it. Also,illegals are not just in California anymore; they have been a focal point in NC and VA politics. We have our own problems with them in West Florida. I have a feeling any insurrection by Mexicans will be met with extreme predjudice nationwide.(well maybe not NY or Mass)

That sounded exactly like the reasons I support Jim Gilchrist over the Republican endorsed candidate, John Campbell down here in Orange County. What good are Republicans if they're voting to give the store away.

Does anyone really think that large numbers of Mexicans working here in the U.S. would support an insurrection? These are not stupid people. They are perfectly aware that no one in the U.S. is sneaking across the border seeking jobs in the Mexican economy. They can easily see the strength of the U.S. economy that supports them. I cannot imagine them wanting to turn over a part of the U.S. economy to the Mexican system. If anything, they would probably wish that the U.S. would annex the part of Mexico their relatives live in.

My new neighbors are like the neighbors I grew up with in this neighborhood, speaking a foreign language to their grandparents (an possibly parents), and competing with native english speakers in the neighborhood schools.

The mouthy ne'er-do-wells then were limited to running off smeary mimeographs that were easily tossed away. No one did them the favor of taking them seriously, or confusing their ravings with threats to our society.

In order to earn degrees all students have to take courses that show ethnic diversity. These people had no desire to be a part of Mexico.

As an American of Mexican descent, I am ashamed of the state of affairs. What ever happened to the great melting pot. Liberal america is dividing this greatest of nations by promoting the labeling of its people. There should not be Mexican-Americans, African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Chicanos, Hispanics. The only label that should be used is American. These labels are divisive and need to be eradicated.

I’ve been in the situation were people threaten and even attempted to burn or claim our cars and homes and we did kick their sorry asses back into the stone ages. But we had more than just numbers against us; we had the world community (fueled by the MSM bull), Sanctions, the fact that the opponents were mainly black and our countries biggest mistake ever – apartheid – against us. So even though we won the “battle”, we ended up loosing the “war”.

Please don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean to compare ZA’s apartheid stories with this; what I do mean to say is that you guys must never allow this to happen. ZA’s once strong economy and safe living conditions have now escalated into something out of a fiction novel with murder, rape and theft as common as the sun rising in the morning.

Yeah, I figured now would be a good time to announce the forming of a new political group. It's called OWCISROR, which stands for Old World Chinese Immigrants Seeking Right of Return. You see, north america was originally inhabited by nomadic tribes that wandered across the land bridge where the Bering Strait is now located. These early immigrants most likely migrated along with the buffalo, which were their primary food source, and were arguably the first settlers of this land. "Haven't seen much coverage of the standoff over the weekend between US Border Patrol agents and armed Mexican bandits. The El Paso Times reports:

A marijuana-laden dump truck got stuck in the Rio Grande on Thursday evening in Hudspeth County, leading to a standoff between U.S. law enforcement and what appeared to be the Mexican military, sheriff officials said.

"It's a very serious incident," Hudspeth County Chief Deputy Mike Doyal said.

"We are very fortunate (Thursday) night no one got hurt," Doyal said. "Everyone had the presence of mind not to cause an international incident, or start shooting."

The incident began when Border Patrol agents tried to stop the dump truck on Interstate 10, sheriff's officials said. The truck fled to Mexico in the Neely's Crossing area.

The truck got stuck in the riverbed, and the driver took off running. Agents "started to retrieve the bundles (of marijuana) when the armed subjects appeared," said Agent Ramiro Cordero, a Border Patrol spokesman.

The Border Patrol called Hudspeth County sheriff's deputies and Texas state troopers for backup, both agencies confirmed.

Doyal said the truck driver returned with the armed men, including men who arrived in official-looking vehicles with overhead lights and what appeared to be Mexican soldiers in uniform and with military-style rifles."
