From all appearances the barrel is bent! So you're right.
That said -- How about those fighting Democrats?
Open Forum! Just jokin Froggy. Welcome back.

Pops, I think the pic is a magazine and the page is bent. I don't see any sights but I can't see why it would be unreliable.

I don't have any experience with that HK. I do, however, have a gut feeling that the rounds are loaded into the clip reversed.

Dude, how the hell did someone load the bullets in that magazine backwards? I thought I was imagining things, but I just checked one of my Glock mags. Yep, those rounds are pointing the wrong way, Wyatt.

At least you'll get some practice doing your misfire drills if you load 'em that way...

Bullets in backwards. From the B Book. Sloppy marketing department.

One would think someone would notice some part of the puzzle didn't quite fit right with the top round trying really hard to wrest itself free from the clip.

Hell, that's probably why they laid the two by the grip...damn spring tension on a full mag kept spitting them back out.

But then, the photographer's understanding of 'shoot' is surely wholly inconsistent with that of HK (with the possible exception of the Marketing Dept).

Thanks for the laugh.

Rounds are in backwards. FRONT SIGHT! oops!

H and K guns are really THAT good. They can even fire rounds backwards.

He's alive!

IIRC, this isn't the first time the marketroids have screwed up in this fashion... I wonder if the mag would even seat properly with the bullets in it backwards?

What's even funnier is that someone had to check their own mag to confirm that the rds were in fact reversed in the pic.

Sad...

Nope, that's a Kamikaze survival kit weapon.

Relax everyone, I saw the arabic version of this catalogue, H&K is offering this model to any credentialed terrorist for $15 w/ free Fedex. What's not described is that Fedex has a new delivery contract with the Air Force and Navy.

Hey Froggy...did you read that story about NBC interviewing the Taliban commander who says he's responsible for the deaths of our Navy Seals?
The MSM has reached an all time low...and should be facing treason charges.

It gets worse!

It looks like a 9mm barrel and those look like .45 rounds.

Matt - off topic -
I see no comment so I do not know if you are ar=ware of this:

HK makes a lousy pistol in my opinion.

The HK would be accurate and reliable if you just threw the gun at someone or used it as a paper weight. It's all in the application.

Ahh, come on guys. I had an compact HK .40 that shot great. Best damn gun I ever owned ... next to my commander style 1911 springfield.

And just to add insult to injury, they don't capitalize, "SEAL." (It's one of my pet peeves, like not capitalizing, "Marine.")

And you're right—they are cockroaches. Leave it up to a bunch of media elites to get all nice and cozy with a bunch of fanatical murderers.

Murdering bastards....this is the country that trained those responsible for 9/11, we should be much more involved there, on every level.

Just when you think that the main stream media can't sink any lower, they come up with something even more offensive than anything they've ever done/printed/shown before. MSNBC has to be the worst of the worst.

I like the Browning Hi Power in .40 S&W for military applications. tho my personal Pistol is a Colt Gov. Series 70 in .45 ACP

Afagistan was a waste of effort should have nuked the whole damn country and imported Jackrabbits.

I guess nobody saw the ABC evening news, you know the ones who would not show the pics of Mohammed in order not to hurt Islams feelings!
Well, They are showing Terrorist videos of American soldiers getting shot by snipers in Iraq.
They can indeed sink lower than plain whale shit, and will continue to sink.

Barry- The news is always going to report war footage, it sells. Fox reports it, everyone shows footage of the war.
No one was complaining during the hysterical media frenzy and hype that helped take us to war. Now all of a sudden you do not like the footage...? They interviewed the medic that got hit by a sniper, and did a great bit on the discipline of his squad, who followed the rules of engagment even after being sniped at. They showed discipline, and the media displayed that.
Not all news from war is going to be good, but we have a free press, not a ministry of propoganda. With the internet and all the information that is available, you are going to see some things you like, and some you do not. The real issue is, what is the truth. What is the bigger reality? How do we win, and what are we calling Vicotry?
The American media is partiotic, not a doubt in my mind. They risk their lives reporting on this. Not all the news is balanced, or good. Such is life in a free society. A free press is going to reprot the good and the bad, and sometimes the distastfull. That does not make them a bad entity,or unpartiotic, it makes them human.

Yeah the Reporter failed on 1 major rule , All acronyms should be Capitalized... just as NBC should be NBC and not Nbc Navy SEALs Should be spelled that way when referring to them

New Rules for Firearm Safety-

1) Be sure of your target and its backdrop at all times.

2) off sights, off target, on safe.

3) Never point you're firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy.

4) Never go hunting with the VP.

PC you are so full of S**T! Where are you from! one min your a fighting democrat and the next you're something else? If you want to get on someones ass get on Commander Ismail and stay there, you could talk him out of his hole. Do it, I want this guy.I want him bad.

Pops...

I found this quote from the article particularly revealing...

""Armstrong said Cheney is a long time friend who comes to the ranch to hunt about once a year and is "a very safe sportsman." She said Whittington is a regular, too, but she thought it was the first time the two men hunted together.

"This is something that happens from time to time. You now, I've been peppered pretty well myself," said Armstrong.""

So, it is normal to shoot your hunting buddy in the face with a shotgun? Maybe in Texas! Remind me to keep you away from my deer stand!

Nothing wrong with being a fighting Democrat pops... we all love America.

Are those really 9mm rounds? Look almost like .357.

We all want "Commander Ismail" dead pops... we all love the United States, want to evenge our brothers, give justice to those involved with 9/11... we just disagree on how to do it.

Major Steve- impossible to tell. Looks like 9mm to me,but in a photo, very hard to tell.

PC
You're right of course, there is nothing wrong with being a fighting democrat. It was the party of my grandfathers. I grew up in central Arkansas, and Roosevelt was a god. Keep fighting and try and direct your party in a direction that leads them back to those days.
Your comment on Ismail is correct also. As to his death there are plenty of choices between beheading and Nuclear Incineration, pick one. You cannot believe how personal this guys comments are to me. As to the Hunting Incident, stuff happens, it should be noted that Mr. Whittington is a lawyer and we have an open season in Texas on lawyers. (Just joking PC)

Seems like the rumors of Darth Cheney the Terribly Evil I are all true after all. Damn, I shouldn't have voted for this man-hunter. I'm going to subscribe to the NYT ASAP!

Al Gore is a TRAITOROUS PIG!!!! Imagine a former VP of this country sobbing to the Saudis how "abused" they were after 9/11!! Never mind that 15 of the 19 hijackers were from that country, never mind that first they accuse Bush of being too cozy with them and that he KNEW of 9/11 before it happened...and now they accuse him of punishing the Saudis because they have a more difficult time getting visas into this country!!! Excuuuuse me...I didn't know it was a "right" instead of a privilege to get into the US!! Of course he offered no proof at all of his accusations (make no mistake) that was what they were - accusations!

Following a long line of FORMER heads of state (Clinton and Carter come to mind immediately), Al Gore is welcome to stay in Saudi Arabia, and ROT!!!

GOD I HATE THESE PEOPLE!!!!

Carol Johnson

Hey Steve O - thanks for the link to the NBC story. They are despicable if you ask me and will be the first to come whining if one of their correspondents were to be kidnapped. Well, Spec Op can just go in and grab em. Right, no biggie. But help out the military when they have the opportunity to show a bit of loyalty to their country over a news story. Nope, that ain't gonna happen.

Oh and Matt, glad to see you still post. I miss the great comments you always get on your postings. I usually learn something.

Carol- Al Gore was not in charge, and had no part, zero, with the cozy relationship this nation kept going with Saudi Arabia after 9/11. It is not that I believe, that we should distance ourselves from their Dicatorship, Bush has not, and I do not believe that this is a bad policy, but your assertation that our current close relationship with the saudis is someheow Gore's responsibility, when the man has not had any Authority for over Five years, is laughable. No one knows how Gore would have reacted toward Saudi Arabia after 9/11...or how that would have develpoed over time, to present day. No one.

Anonymous -

I repeat...Gore can stay in Saudi Arabia! I don't ever want to see this man anywhere near "authority" again! Period. He had his chance and he chose the wrong side.

Carol

Apparently I am not the only one who thinks so...
via Powerline and Mark Steyn

In a sidebar on his Greatest Hits page, Mark Steyn observes under the heading "HIS MOST EXCELLENT HIGHNESS PRINCE TURKI AL-GORE GIVES MAGNIFICENT SPEECH SMITING ZIONIST CRUSADERS!":

Sheikh, prattle, and roll over:
This may be the all-time great example of Gore's tone-deafness. He's attacking Bush for not kissing up to the House of Saud enough. Even those in the most advanced stages of Bush Derangement Syndrome know that that's a loser - half of Fahrenheit 9/11 is devoted to the President's cosiness with Bandar, Abdullah and co. With this speech, Sheikh al-Gore sets an impressive new standard of insanity that even star performers like Kerry, Dean, Kennedy, Leahy and Biden will find very hard to match.

No one knows how Gore would have reacted toward Saudi Arabia after 9/11...or how that would have develpoed over time, to present day. No one.

I think I can say:

*Same crap, different day
*Do nothing
*Pretend to make nice
*Hope it all goes away

(and maybe grow your beard long and unruly, and pound your fist on the podium whilst being "outraged." That'll scare the bejeebers out of 'em.

Carol and dellbabe68 - Well said!

My guess is that even the Saudis were looking at Gore and thinking something like, "That man is unhinged!"

Sheikh, prattle, and roll over:

Carol, that is hilarious.

Adele,

Wish I could take credit for "Sheikh, prattle, and roll over" but all the glory belongs to Mark Steyn.

The question now buzzing around the internet now is "how much did Gore get paid for this gig", "who exactly was paying him", and "what is the money being used for"? I think it revolting and SHOULD be illegal for these idiots to get campaign or any other kind of contributions for trashing their own country. That list is very long and VERY Democrat!

When they go overseas to get money that they know they can't get here in the US, they literally are SELLING OUT their own country!!! No one will convince me of anything different.

Carol

Dems pulled Hacket from the Senate race in Ohio...gave it to some billionaire... sucks big time. Self destruction is us... Hacket was a great candidate...fantastic... friggin usless dem party leadership...USELESS!

One last comment...you all are digging way deap to bring up the Gore over and over.... He has been out of office for over 5 years now...

Bush approval...under 40%

Problem with Gore is that he won't stay out of office. In his mind, he is still running things and can say and do basically whatever he feels like. No one listens seriously to him in this country so he takes his act overseas. One worthless and miserable human being. He lost an election 6 years ago and he's not about to let us forget it. Unfortunately.

Carol

I'll tell you what's wrong with the picture...it needs to be replaced with a new post.

BLOG SOON FROGMAN!! Just do it.

Rod/Matt,

I consider Mark a friend. Thank our Heavenly Father for women like the ones in the article. If we could see a few hundred of them demonstrating in DC it would have such an impact. it would overwhelm ALL the moonbat women!

Darn good example of how much the media, in this case advertisers, know about our tools.

Do you think that advertizing company still works for HK? Hilarious!!

lt

Whats really wrong with the HK ad is that the gun isn't pumping all 15 little 9mm bullets into Bin Ladins Head. Maybe that'll be the next ad campaign...

Oh, ah, PC...

Welcome back.

Dellbabe...read above...and read my posts for a change...I am well aware of the failings of the Democrats..I already commented on Hackett... there is piss poor leaderhisp in the Democratic party right now, and i have said as much, repeatedly here. I would not be surprised to see them ditch the band of brothers all together, which sucks, sucks bad.
Now, I still vote for a Dem over the Bush admin and their cronies anyday, and I have not voted for a Democrat for president, ever. It has gotten that bad. noone wins here, no one. The nation loses.

"Dems pulled Hacket from the Senate race in Ohio...gave it to some billionaire... sucks big time. Self destruction is us... Hacket was a great candidate...fantastic... friggin usless dem party leadership...USELESS!"

From my previous post dellbabe...not that you are interested in anything other than your own partisan view of reality.

Actually, PC, I enjoy bugging you...ever since the posing episode. You were the first person I thought of when I saw that article.

Folks,

Today is a great day in our war against evil. I sense the tide has turned. My sensors are lit up big time!

The Good Blog Warriors are in the process of winning an aspect of the "War on Terror" of utmost importance, the Net War.

I commend you. Congratulations.

The signifigance of this is earth shaking!

I am so proud to be just a miniscule part of this community.

Able Danger Alert:

Here’s what the WashPost says about the Able Danger Hearings and LtCol Shaffer and Weldon in particular. I don’t know what these people have against hearing the truth…as if they would know it if it walked up and smacked them in the face! Essentially they have written Weldon and his witnesses off as hysterical and crazy. I’ll let you decide just who is “crazy” and who is “hysterical”!!!

Oh, so you have the hots for me Dellbabe...cool.

Gore's speech has resurrected Ye Olde Eighties phrase known as a "Gorbasm," but with the new modern spelling - known as a "Gorebasm."

The Able Danger stuff is old hat, Carol.

The latest fun stuff is modelling future behavior from past events.

How do terrorist networks grow and spread and what are the best means to combat them given initial behaviors?

Here is a view of networks modelled to combat smallpox. Its just a small step to look at other virulent pestilences.

A Surge in Whistle-Blowing ... and Reprisals

from your post Carol... the real issue here is that no one can do their job, no one can be honest anymore. It is all politics, at every level.

You're up there with academics, dear, so that means we'd have to be on the brink of extinction. I was only taking pleasure in demoralizing you

PC,

I agree with you that no one can be honest anymore...at least in politics! They don't call it the second oldest profession for nothing!

Actually, I'm not sure they aren't the "same" profession - come to think of it. I just know that I will be at the voting booth this November, pulling my hair out, while holding my nose, and voting for the LEAST obnoxious candidate and that's a pretty sorry ass statement of how bad this has gotten. Later!

Carol

Dellbabe...you do not like academics...uh...good god, why not? What type of person do you like then, a 24 year old political appointee fundies that sqush "ACADEMICS" (Scientists)? perhaps? ...a fire fighter.. cop? They can be academics too you know. Nothing wrong with an education. Nothing wrong with not wanting one, either.
You said something about a "posing episode"..have no friggin clue on that one...find it hard to believe one could have an "episode" in a chatroom... maybe while hunting with the VP one could have an "episode" perhaps?
I have never posed to be anything...ever.

PC -- UW won't honor Pappy Boyington because he "killed people" and was a "dead rich white man."

... the mind boggles.

Pappy ate better in the Marines (well, except when he was a POW) than in Civilian life.

Clinton wants those cartoonists and anyone who published them "punished" and made the statement in Pakistan.

Richard Dreyfuss wants Bush impeached for "revenge" over 9/11 in Afghanistan and considers Guantanamo a human rights atrocity (ala Al Gore saying we did "unforgiveable" things by kicking out Muslims overstaying Visas after 9/11).

Dem Party in a nutshell. The Party is insane.

Jim- Richard Dreyfuss? Dude, you are reaching with that one.

Clinton- Well, slick Willie has a way with words, I would have to see exactly what he said in context.

I could site you ..well... dozens of examples of Croniesm and corruption from this administration that hurt law enforcement, defense, homeland security, Science..etc etc etc... all in the name of political power. Plus, the many occasions that they have lied, or distoted the truth, twisted the facts... worse than even Clinton attempting to define the word "is" over his purjury after abusing his position of power.

Bottom line, these guys have hurt us. They have hurt our image in the world, hurt our ability to be honest brokers in peace or war. Created a deficit that is insane. Taken the Clinton adage of spinning the news to a new level, by selective leaking to CREATE the news, not just spin it. Bullied anyone who has given them an honest critiuqe. The damage they have done is going to last a long time. I am not so sure we are going to get a nother Tech boom like we did in the Clinton years, to pull us out of this hole.
If you are going to slam the Dems, at least slam Pelosi, Reid and Dean, the three stooges that cannot have a combined vision, not even loosely defined direction, and cannot even take advantage of a miserable falure who's numbers are below 40%.

Good WSJ article on Iraq, from the perepctive of a journalist who lived there for 4 years. From Pre OIF to present. http://online.wsj.com/public/ art...ff_main_tff_top

pc - An interesting article, but certainly not representative of Iraq as a whole. Somewhat myopic, actually.

Well, PC, after working in higher ed for 13 years (at three colleges in addition to attending two colleges of my own), I have learned that too many academics are elist snobs that live in a theoretical world and are pissed off socialism got a bad rap (and who will insist that life in Cuba isn't that bad, and oh, if it is bad, it's the US's fault!).

Nothing wrong with education at all, except for the lack of free speech, the excesses of code speech, and the presence of thought police. I stay because I work mostly with alums, who live in the real world and so have the intellectual curiosity but none of the moral equivalence bullshit, and because I like raising scholarship money for kids who will benefit by a four year degree.

Comparing you to academics was just to insult you (in a nice way) since you thought I was bugging you because I had the hots for you!

...Though I do think you live in a fantasy world of your own.

The posing thing was over the Iraq war and the reasons for it, and both Weatherby and Leland, as well as myself, called you on it.

Dellbabe, that is a very narrow view of Academia. Why send your kids to College at all, if you have such a low opinion of it?
Moslty, it depends on the discipline when it comes to political leanings in College or Graduate school. You must have experience in small liberal arts schools or in a discipline like the humanities to have had such an over exposure to it, or in a very liberal state which is reflected in its academics.
Science tends to be A political, the humanities tend to be liberal, and Buisness tends to be conservative.

The Iraq war "posing"...uh.. no clue.

I'll give you the whole first paragraph, PC. You're right about it. But it's schools like those that often have professors that give "expert testimony" and who influence policy. They generally are unfriendly to men and practically feel that have to re-educate them. And now our school, and others like it, wonder why we have so few men applying. I used to work at two other small lib arts colleges that were much more balanced. I came to this one right after Bush got elected. I think it's partly this way because of the political climate and because it's an elite school that it's so myopic. For example, we had some students complain about the lack of diveristy (though minorities make up 18% of campus, in a suburban setting) and we have created a top level position to promote diversity but get this... we don't know what that person will be doing! We only know we needed the position! It's so knee jerk it's sad. Then we had the faculty work out language that says we will always work to have at least as many people of color on campus as the general population, but we already surpass that by a few points, on our own! It's truly lip service being paid and at the end of the day, some people will still be minorities.
I feel like we're renforcing to them that by just complaining, even if what they are saying has no merit when you look at facts, we're contributing to sloppy scholarship.
People have to voice their concern over academia tanking totally to one side politically, even if it's within a smaller setting. I can give you more examples at another time, but I gotta run.

I'm still not letting you off the hook on the war.
Maybe if I have time I will search the comments to find the thread.

ROTC required for graduation at all publicly funded colleges. Now there is an interesting idea!

Science is apolitical? Someone needs to study history.

Brian, I'm all for ROTC. Not sure about the required for graduation, but it sure would be nice to be required for colleges to receive any federal fund. I'd like to see some University professors be blocked from federal grants because they blocked ROTC. After all, our federal government is charged with providing an Army and Navy, but not charged with providing grants to professors.

Anonymous (whimp can't even post an alias, if not his/her name)... Richard Dreyfuss made his comments to at the National Press Club. Now, I'm no fan of either Dreyfuss or the NPC, but the latter is usually well covered by (who whudda thought) the national press. Sadly, Mr. Holland is not the only one trying to impeach Bush. The Dems want payback for Clinton, and ironically, not much is sticking to President Bush. Still, a few legislators are writing legislation with a blank to be filled in later.

New Subject!
Did you guys jnow that there is a group of so called Baptist out of Topeka Kansas, protesting at the funerals of our fallen heros in the most disgustinging manner that you could imagine?
http://www.godhatesfags.com
And then there is a nation wide group of Bikers that have organized in short order to shut them down:
http://www.patriotguard.org
Check this out -- you will not believe this!

I know that you guys will think that I've lost my ever lovin Texas Mind, but these assholes are showing up at the funerals of our dead heroes and doing unimaginable things. They are tyraveling coast to cosast to desicrate the memories of those who whave made the ultimate sacrifice, so that we can set here and send emails to each other.Chime in.

Hey Pops you are onto something I've been real ticked off about for awhile now. That whole deal was covered by Matty O'Balckfive recently, so here is the link to one of many posts, and yours truly is in the comments section sounding off....

http://www.blackfive.net/main/ 20...ay_to_stop.html
BLACKFIVE: One Way to stop Fred @$$hat Phelps

Well, in East Texas, most citizens still pull over to the side of the road when a funeral procession passes by. That may seem normal with most processions having police escort. But in Texas, they don't just pull over, they then get out of their cars, and most bow their heads in prayer. In some cases of fallen soldiers, I've seen banners along the route thanking the family and soldier for their sacrifice.

The fact that the Baptist in Topeka get noticed is that they are oddballs that don't fit the general picture. Grant it, Pops, fewer are recognizing the oddballs for what they are. That's a shame.

We miss froggy. Maybe he is planning to run for office, thats why he is gone.

Froggy for president!!

Pops,
When froggy is president maybe he will do something about thoes evil, scumsucking monsters. They make me sick. I hope some day they feel 1000 times the pain the people that have to see them feel.

Thanks Guys,
Leland, your kind comments in regard to the reverence shown in East Texas also apply to 99.9999% of the land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. Odd ball is a bit light, but I'll go with it for now. If you can stand it go to their website and see if something a bit stronger might apply. Froggy will appreciate my restraint in this matter for now. But let these people show up at a funeral for our fallen heroes where I am in attendance, and you'll see me in the evening news. God bless the Patriot Guards. Hooyah!

Leland...Science gets sucked into politics normally because of religion, or some other issue that challenges science...there are tons of examples, like the founding of our nation, heck...a million examples..but scientists, tend to be apolitical people, unless they are attacked by one side because of beliefs that are not based on any scientific facts. For example..ID, GLOBAL WARMING...but in general, people who love science are not not into politics, as long as it does not interfere, with science...make sense? They are not hard core radicals like Sociologists.

Ann Coulter made a lot of comments at a Republican convention... uh... that mean I should attach them to all Republicans?

Bush may get Impeached..

#1- Because he is challenging congress on a law they passed.
#2- Because his approval is at 39%.

The devil is in the details, if it is discovered that Domestic Spying, or whatever you want to call it,is far reaching and has been abused, there is trouble.

You are going to see more and more Members of Congress trying to show their independence very soon. Election time, and Bush has very poor numbers. Things are not loooking good for this president. He is already a lame duck. He has mismanaged everything he has touched, the only thing keeping Republicans in power, is a weak alternative. The Democrats do not have a combined voice, or clear vision. They hyperverbalize every issue, and cannot seperate themselves from the fact that they controlled the Senate, and authorized Bush to invade Iraq. The backstab of Senatorial Iraq war Veteran Hackett in Ohio, set the party back years.

So, other than that, things are going well.....

Pops, that has been going on for some time. If they find out a service member is gay, they disrupt his funeral. It truly is, disgusting. Bunch of scumbags...same types hanging around Hospices, drooling and throwing things at people trying to give their loved ones their last days of peace.
Perhaps I should use a leland analogy and link them to all people who oppose gay marriage? nah.

PC
They are not just attacking Gay Service Members. They have showed their collective asses at 80 funerals recently. Many things have been done in the name of religion over the years, but that don't make it right.I now realize it is not necessarly new news, but it's new to me.I have had two dogs in this fight since 9/11/01, and I admit that the last few years have dulled my senses a bit, but this may just be the thing to get me going again. Those people disgust me.

I have been folowwing the website of the Patriot Guards this morning. On Feb. 21, 06 CNN.com posted a story about them and the "Church". Since then their membership has been growing by 500 to 1000 members per day. They are receiving 10 to 20 emails per hour. Membership is up to 7674 and headed for 10,000 like a runaway freight train.
This does my old heart good. Now we're talking America the Beautiful.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/02/21...s.ap/ index.html
This is the CNN story. Strong stuff!

Pops, that's great!

Thanks Della.

Come on Froggy, get off your dead ass and say something! No Froggy No Blog. Been to Blackfive, to Army for me. I need you back in the game.

I think Froggy's just trying to give us civilians a taste of the real military life- 'hurry up and wait'

The Sodomized Virgin Exception
South Dakota:

FRED DE SAM LAZARO: Napoli says most abortions are performed for what he calls "convenience." He insists that exceptions can be made for rape or incest under the provision that protects the mother's life. I asked him for a scenario in which an exception may be invoked.

BILL NAPOLISD State Senator) A real-life description to me would be a rape victim, brutally raped, savaged. The girl was a virgin. She was religious. She planned on saving her virginity until she was married. She was brutalized and raped, sodomized as bad as you can possibly make it, and is impregnated. I mean, that girl could be so messed up, physically and psychologically, that carrying that child could very well threaten her life."

Seriously people...who elects these lunatics.

"good god"

I know of only one group of people who would write such a phrase.

PC, you have lied about so many things on this site; I'm certain that no one takes you seriously. As arrowhead stated, you are good for a laugh.

"good god"

I know of only one group of people who would write such a phrase.

Episcopalians like me?

By the way, you cannot site a specific example of where I have lied, because I have not. If so, state where. You may not like my opinions, but they are based on facts, and the above quote from the State Senator in SD is factual, if you would like, I can send you a link to it. He said it on TV.

To All Hands:
Froggy is not here to keep the Peace, so I'll do it. You boys calm down! Let's not revert to name calling. PC you are special!Where do you come up with s**t?

Just link it! it cuts down on silly squabbles...

Hey guys,

Now don’t laugh, but just a thought. What are the chances that our man Froggy is actually doing what he was trained for and in that sense enjoying it and having his so called “Hiatus”? I mean he is a reservist SEAL and I have been told that they are running a bit short on experienced operators, who knows maybe the man is in his BDU’s chasing them Taliban idiots?

Now it seams everybody is a bit agitated about the situation, so don’t go biting my head off as I said it is just a thought.

regards,

Jan,

Maybe Froggy is just really taking a break. Maybe he is busy in other ways. It is not for us to know the latter.

I think he's just taking a break but if Froggy is otherwise occupied, then God Speed to him.

Rich

Jan,

I have considered that a possibility from the beginning. However, he also deserves a break. Again, he's not a public utility, and we shouldn't treat him as such.

=======================
I did come back to see if anyone here wanted to comment on "Rumsfeld v FAIR".

I thought SCOTUS decision was spot on. The Solomon Amendment is reasonable legislation (I thought it was redundant and thus unnecessary, but apparently I was wrong). I wouldn't want to take away from FAIRs right to protest against the military. That is their right under the 1st Amendment. But a few things:

* "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is a policy imposed on the military by the US Congress. FAIR would do better lobbying Congress rather than protesting the US military if gay rights is truly their motivation.

* If "elite" law schools can't figure out that Congress writes the laws that the military follows, then I for one don't want my taxes supporting a lost cause.

* I understand the dangers of government controlling speech by controlling the purse. If law professors want to protest the government, they would serve their efforts well if they accepted the Solomon amendment and quit relying on the government gravy train. True freedom is achieved in this manner. Our founding fathers understood this and sadly, our "elite" law schools have forgotten this.

Rich & Leland

You two are 100% correct regarding Froggies right to having a break and I’m hoping that he is have a jolly good time doing so, wouldn’t mind having one myself right about now.

Something totally of the point – I will be traveling to the US in June visiting Chicago and Decatur Illinois, mostly Decatur. To my surprise the boss have given me a free weekend. Now I do realize Decatur is a small town in comparison to Chicago and I will be spending my weekend in Decatur, any suggestions on how to make the best use of my limited free time in your great country? - traveling is a option.

Regards,

Jan,

"You two are 100% correct regarding Froggies right to having a break and I’m hoping that he is have a jolly good time doing so, wouldn’t mind having one myself right about now."

That's what I keep thinking... I could really use a break myself, and I haven't done half the things Froggy has done. If I think I deserve a break, I know he does. Yet, I do worry that he is on mission, and if so, I do wish him "God speed" as well.

As for your trip, I know very little about the US mid-West. However, considering commenters input into Froggy's trip to San Fran, I'm sure somebody here can help you as well.

Hi all,

If anyone is interested in adopting a US service member, please visit soldiersangels.org and click on "adopt a soldier." We are kind of short of angels at this time of the year. The group asks that you send two packages a month and two letters a week (which can be brief!)... it's very satisfying and you really make someone's day when they get their name called at mail call or come home to mail on their bunk. Email me if you have any questions. Thanks.

Adele

The case against the armed forces had nothing to do with gay rights, and everything to do with the attempt to alienate our armed forces from some liberal institutions. One of the primary attacks that "liberals" use against the armed forces, is that it it is made up of poor people who have no other options in life. This denegrates those that serve, by attempting to placing them in a position of that is pitifull.
The truth is, that the military is largely reflective of society in every socio group except women. The level of education in our armed forces greatly exceeds the societal norm. Over 25% of our armed force, has a college education. Any "study" that you may see that attempts to portray the military as feeding off the needs of the poor, will certanly conveniently forget to display the service of officers in any statistic that they give.
Gay men have, and still continue to serve, in our armed forces. They have served with honor in every war.
It is ironic, that a politcal group that is under represented in our military (it splits about 65% Repub to 35% dem among those that vote) would want to discourage good people who may happen to be "liberal" from service in our armed forces.
This is Americas Military, not the Republicans Military, not the Democrats military, not the straight peoples military, it is formed by the people of the USA to fight in the interests of our nation. The armed forces needs every good person it can get, regardless of sexual orintation or political afiliation. The "Don´t Ask Don´t Tell" policy exists because of the type of job it is, and the extreme problems cases of open sexuality present in a job where people are ordered to live together. It is a good policy, and the people who oppose it have no clue. I was glad to see the USSC spank them appropriately.

Note: the 35 to 65 stat is based on the absentee ballot count from Florida in the 2000 election. It is not a very good stat, but the only one that breaks it down. Of course, that is old, and changing.

Yes. Now it's more like 75-25% for the R's:')

Brian-
I doubt that very much.

Zogby?

ROFLMAO!

Zobgy is usually within the margin for error. More telling, he got enough people to respond to make a poll.
Laugh away, then talk to a few USMC NCO´s that have done a few tours. If you know them well enough, they will tell you something you might not want to hear.

Don't mind if I do, PC... I have not heard any of what you are talking about and I'm in contact with quite a numbers of soldiers, as well as many of the people here.

As for getting enough respondents to make a poll actually meaning anything, give me a break. Getting enough respondents means nothing. Balancing who you ask, having a large enough sample, not forming a poll with the express purpose for making a point you held at the get-go, is what real pollsters do. Oh, and then there is the transparency of a good poll. He has none of that. As usual, Dems have made a King out of Zogby because he tells them what they want to hear, which confirms they are still relevant (if even in their own minds), and they thought his brother's role in the Islamic group would somehow give them higher authority to comment on things Islamic. Thing is, the laity can read now.

How 'bout that censure vote?

Well said, dellbabe68.

For some additional insight into the world of John Zogby, read Hugh Hewitt's interview with him (see link below) concerning his recent "poll" re: Iraq. Zogby's inability or unwillingness to answer pointed questions concerning his so-called poll, is quite interesting. It demonstrates why Zogby has lost whatever credibility he once had and why his "findings" and his interpretation of those "findings" are inaccurate and irrelevant.

Dellbabe- You honestly believe, it is going well? Honestly?

Yes, PC, honestly I do. For liberating a country that has lived under tyranny for 30+ years, I think it has gone extremely well. I think Syria is on notice; I think Lebanon would not have happened without the pressure from US forces in the area and without a free Iraq; I think Libya would not have become so willing to negotiate if it hadn't been for our invasion of Iraq (though they were on their way, they definitely sped up their compliance), and Pakistan would not be forced to deal with its homegrown terrorists (though that is a work in progress, as anything that big has to be.) I do not like that fact that there is bloodshed but I am also not lulled into thinking that no blood shed now means no blood shed ever. Sometimes a menace needs to be confronted. Many positive stories coming out of Iraq hardly get told, and if it weren't for the blogosphere, they wouldn't get told at all. The expression Freedom isn't Free is a lot more than a slogan. You need to defend your freedom, and in this day and age that means adapting to where the enemy is and where he incubates his cause. That is the Middle East. Iraq was the best approach for numerous reasons, including a long and demonstrated history of them flouting international law, directly challenging the US, and providing monetary support for Palestinian suicide bombers. I believe there are also WMD’s but that they were either disposed of or hidden before our invasion. I did not need to be convinced to invade them with the argument of WMD’s. I feel this is an aggressive but ultimately a good strategy. Or is that strategery? Either way, I think we are helping to re-shape that part of the world and it doesn’t happen neatly. I think dividends are to be paid with this effort for years to come, and some of those are undoubtedly going to be bad ones. Nothing is easy and certainly this is no exception. What we need is for the international community to find its spine and for fewer of us to put stock into making sure European elites don’t get offended.

PC, I figure it's going a damn sight better than the efforts to bring peace and stability to the former Yugoslavia. How many years have troops been 'occupying' there now?
And what about the search for the criminals? The top two most wanted Serbs after the late Milosevic are STILL on the lamb, not in the tribal hinterlands of Pakistan, but on the European continent.

Just how well SHOULD the WOT and Iraq be going, by your estimation? If you were in charge, things would've been set straight how much sooner?

Douglas-
I think it has been mismanaged. A lot of military and political leaders stated that it was a job for 400-700K, to do it right and keep the country from deteriorating into civil war. I think that not enabling the Suniis early on, was a huge mistake, because they are the most Western Arabs in Iraq. I blieve that we went in too early, with not enough troops, and without a clear mission and plan for imposing order afterwards. I think the Politicos involved in this have horribly mismanged it, and the only thing keeping us afloat over there is that we have an oustanding proffessional Armed Forces. In short, I think this administration has screwed up royally.
I also know Dellbabe, that your premise that the most guys on the ground think it is going well, is a fallacy, that, I know.
Right now I am not sure what we can do to win this thing. It has gotten to a point now, where we have lost the initiative and it has been so mismanaged, that the majority of the US population no longer supports it. I do not see, how supporting fanatics in the Region, just because we add the word "Democracy" to it, is in our best interest.
The truth is Dellbabe, Iran is thuumbing its nose at us because of this. Syria is on notice how, exactly? Iran is on notice how, exactly? These countries hate our guts and are doing everything in their power to weaken our position in the region.
Hamas, well.... I suppose that they are on notice now too, now that they control a nation?
China? They on notice too? How about Russia, who is aiding Iran with its nuclear program now, they on notice?
The dollar is what... worth .80 Euro? The Europeans on notice now?
I am not seeing it. I am not seeing at all how we are better off with the debt we have now. We borrow 300 billion dollars A DAY. How does alientating our European allies help us? That kind of arrogant foolish attitude is part of what we are doing wrong.
Want to talk for a Second about South America?? How many leftist leaders have been elected there in the past four years. HEAVILY ALIGNED WITH CASTRO. They on notice too?
Even the Domestic policies, I see nothing but failures. Don't you have ANY elderly people in your families, who are dealing with the 500 billion dollar "good deal" prescription drug "benefit"? Don't you guys know anyone from the gulf coast? To be honest, I cannot think of one thing that has been managed well by this Administration.

"I also know Dellbabe, that your premise that the most guys on the ground think it is going well, is a fallacy, that, I know."

He "knows" this, in spite of all the information on the Net to the contrary. Amazing.

"Right now I am not sure what we can do to win this thing. It has gotten to a point now, where we have lost the initiative and it has been so mismanaged..."

Those are the words of the typical liberal - full of sound and fury and backed up by nothing. They have become their mantra over the past 40 years or so. They signify weakness and cowardice, and they are shameful.

PC-“… In short, I think this administration has screwed up royally.”
Yes, we know that. I asked you what you would’ve done, and the extent of your answer was- lots more troops on the ground. Do you think that there might be negatives to that strategy? Is it possible they might outweigh the supposed benefits? Do you have all the necessary info to make that determination?
As for how ‘well’ or not things have been run, how does one measure that? What’s your metric? Relative to all wars/conflicts we’ve been in prior to this, we’re doing fantastically well. It’s only four years into this. Has it been messy? Yes. Have there been problems that MIGHT have been handled better? Yes, perhaps. It’s hard to know how well your strategy would’ve panned out, since it was never tested. It may have ended up being a disaster. Wars are full of mistakes, by nature, what leads to victory, is dealing with the cycle of mistakes faster than your opponent. We have no problem there.
You think Iraq is in a civil war? Really? You have no idea what a REAL civil war in Iraq would look like then. It would surely make the current spasms of violence look like a hiccup.
The Sunni’s were the most western Arabs in Iraq, so we should’ve empowered them early on. Never mind that they were the minority oppressors for the last thirty years or so. They needed to be brought down, so they would not feel like they deserved a higher place in the new government, but would have to work things out on an equal footing. Sounds good to me. You also needed time to find the really bad guys and keep them from getting positions of power.

”I blieve that we went in too early, with not enough troops, and without a clear mission and plan for imposing order afterwards.”
So, in the months leading up to the war, who had a better plan that you can point out to me?

”I think the Politicos involved in this have horribly mismanged it, and the only thing keeping us afloat over there is that we have an oustanding proffessional Armed Forces.”
Funny, how an administration that is probably one of the least micro-managing in history is here being accused of mis-management. If you don’t like the planning, it’s the military you’re attacking- it was their planning.

”I also know Dellbabe, that your premise that the most guys on the ground think it is going well, is a fallacy, that, I know.”
What’s your sample size? What rank and in-theater experience do they have? No reference point means no value to the statement.

” Watch what people are cynical about, and one can often discover what they lack. “ -George S. Patton
PC- ”Right now I am not sure what we can do to win this thing. It has gotten to a point now, where we have lost the initiative and it has been so mismanaged, that the majority of the US population no longer supports it.”

”I do not see, how supporting fanatics in the Region, just because we add the word "Democracy" to it, is in our best interest.”
well, I sure do. When people vote for hamas, you know where they stand, and if it comes to it, they get what’s coming, they voted for it. It’s always better to KNOW where people stand.

”The truth is Dellbabe, Iran is thuumbing its nose at us because of this. Syria is on notice how, exactly? Iran is on notice how, exactly? These countries hate our guts and are doing everything in their power to weaken our position in the region.”
So, if they aren’t worried, and we’re screwing up so badly, why are they all fired up to weaken our position in the region? Perhaps fear?
“Want to talk for a Second about South America?? How many leftist leaders have been elected there in the past four years. HEAVILY ALIGNED WITH CASTRO. They on notice too?

Are there more or fewer leftist movements in S.A. now vs. twenty five years ago?
”Even the Domestic policies, I see nothing but failures. Don't you have ANY elderly people in your families, who are dealing with the 500 billion dollar "good deal" prescription drug "benefit"? Don't you guys know anyone from the gulf coast? To be honest, I cannot think of one thing that has been managed well by this Administration.
So, if people don’t get every prescription drug free, it’s all bad?
Hurricanes are to blamed on the current administration? The mismanagement is all based on the local problems in LA. The federal government is not meant to, nor should it, be the primary problem solver at the local level. The people of LA have allowed themselves to live in a state full of corruption and graft and didn’t think they might have to pay the piper for it someday?
Here’s one thing that the administration has managed well- the economy. Latest numbers say over 60% of the folks think the economy is strong and heading in the right direction…
Got anything else?

Arrowhead and Doug, you guys are great. I have a business trip to good 'ol Texas the next four days (San Antonio and Houston in case anyone is around) so I don't have time to play with PC today.

Sorry, PC.

Safe trip, Dell

Where are you Froggy?

Thanks, Doug.

Good question, Zman. I was JUST thinking as I logged on to check our Froggy's site that I am like the elephant that stays with its young long after it died. Look how many messages/comments he has and he hasn't event posted recently! It's a testament to how much we miss him!

I am jones-ing.

Stopping by to see if you're back or not. I really do miss your posts.

Hope you and yours are doing OK.

The weather in Houston has been great almost all winter, and but you decide to come visit at the start of Spring when it is overcast and rainy. Well, you should enjoy the mild temperatures. Come back a few weeks later, and the drive/flight from San Antonio to Houston will have a view full of wild flowers.

As for Froggy, I'm jones-ing too. As Dr. Zubov states: "Hope you and yours are doing OK."

Hi everybody!

*spritz* *spritz* (Endust)

Excuse me while I tackle this foot deep coating of dust around here. LOL!!

I haven't forgotten you all...just been busy. Don't know about Froggy. I'm sure he'll be back when he has something to say.

In the meantime, if you haven't already, get out there and vote in the primary in your state! It's what our military is defending our right to do, no matter WHO you vote for, VOTE!!! It's important.

Lecture over. Carry on.

Carol

HELLO???? Hello???? hello????

Where did all the furniture go? There are cobwebs everywhere. LOL!

I guess that Senator Diane Fecalswine and her midget counter part the Senator stamp collector/re-seller were visiting one day and Hunkin Krapen playing cops and robbers or maybe cowgirls and Indians. Now look what happened.

Hunkin Krapen = is Krapen buy American ya beltway bandits.

The first April post.

Oh, where or where can that little Froggy be?
Oh, where, oh where, can he be????

Rummy = tactically unsound micromanager. I have been saying this for a long time in here now, and quoting people like Zinne and Odem, only to have the minions in here tell me that they new nothing "because they were not current on the war"

Any comment on this?

These Generals are all over the news. "Heck of a job, Rummy"

Nothing is wrong, you numbnuts. It's marketing - not reality. Marketing can portray shit any way it wants as long as it moves goods and agendas. Don't confuse the one with the other. They both have their purpose.

(Christ you guys are stupid.)

Just came across this blog. It's great. A marketing REMF probably put the bullets in the mag. Let me say, I worked along side SEALS in Iraq & I was highly impressed. They aren't the gods like on the movies, SEALS are better. Continuous use of the brain housing group while doing the mission. My exposure to the American press in Iraq sickened me. It's all to sell a story & to hell with the truth. If it discredits the military & the administration, even better. I found even the Arab press was willing to listen to our side of things, but the American press only wanted make us look bad. People here want everything but don't to pay to have the dirty work done. It's sad because this next election, with Iraq & Katrina on peoples' minds, they will be willing to vote on whatever far-lefty says the "right" things.

Here is a recent snap of a 32-Years in service fellow Army CW5's magazine. I took this picture in Afghanistan.

He spent over 30 years in the Army and this is his very first deployment.

That's a photograph of a photograph, and the paper is slightly curved.

End of story.
