I wish I had time to read you every day froggy but it's good to know that old fashioned common sense still exists - somewhere.

Scott,

It is a big shame that every time we say or do something connected or even remotely connected to Islam the whole Muslim world reacts in a explosion of anger and discuss and then just as you turn your head you see everybody pleading for forgiveness. This is BS man, as they are allowed to call us infidels and allowed to kidnap our Christian workers and then the world expects us to keep quiet. I’m a Christian born, raised and I will die so. I will not stand quietly by as these mongrels kill fellow Christians and other good people in the name of their faith. They are perverted cowards that plants bombs where woman and children are walking and playing. If they are these true holy warriors, then why can’t they face our Christian warriors on the field of battle – man to m……?

Sorry mate, but I can’t stand terrorist and cowards. God bless the American and other soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan!!

Jan

Anyone that tries to tell you that you can support the troops and not the war completely misunderstands or is flat out lying. The two cannot be separated. Next time you hear that, ask if they've written a letter to a soldier or helped a family left behind. We choose to do this dangerous work don't try to fool yourselves or others on your position.

Great post Scott. Thank you.

Very interesting post if you are looking for credit score and how to raise credit score information check out my website!

A well thought-out and well-written response.

Did "TMc" have anything to say in response? Just curious.

Turn the other cheek. Yes, but it only goes so far- otherwise, why would Jesus allow the apostles to carry swords? (Sure, he ordered them to stand down, and healed the servant with the severed ear, but that was because there was a greater mission at hand).
I'm constantly confronting fellow Christians about nonsense like pacifism and being against capital punishment and the like. It gets aggravating sometimes, good to know I'm not alone.

The reason nobody else responded was probably because they didn't know how to express themselves as eloquently as you.

So many times I have wished I could respond half as well.

Good post.

Sad to hear Walt is drinking the Koolaid now, but he always was impressionable. I still love him as a brother, but clearly his judgement is subject to questioning. Great talking to you last week, bro. Keep the Frogosphere burning!

Scott,
You rail-on these Godless bastards all you want and don't back down. Nothing that you can say or do will ever change the way they feel about us. While you are at it look around you as you go about your daily business, and notice how many of them touch your life on a daily basis, eg: motels, convience stores, service stations, etc.
I am a Vietnam Vet and today while in Tomball, TX at election headquarters, for the first time ever I noticed that the signs were printed in three languages, English, Spanish, and Vietnamese! Godforbid that in another 40 Years they will also read in Arabic, Farsi, and Ordu! It has to stop here and now or we have lost America forever!

Good to see you posting again, Scott! Thanks to Matt for pointing us to you. I agree with your argument and I just have a simple motto (it's from a bumpersticker): You can't support the troops if you don't support the mission.

I've thought and thought about it and it just makes sense to me. It's logical. These pinheads who say if we love our troops we'll bring them all home...what the hell planet do they live on? And do they even remember this is an all-voluntary military?? They are just stuck on stupid, and stuck in the Vietnam/draft mindset. Idiots, all of them.

Thanks again for a good post!

(OMG we've finally got Preview here! I've been away too long...)

Plety of Senior members of our armed forces, with multipe decorations for valor earned during this war, will say the same thing Walt did. Is he wrong? Well, that is why we have elections. That is the reality. Deal with it.

Kissenger said recently that the military objectives in Iraq could not be accomplished. Bush now has his dads team in, and is constanlty re defining victory while hitting the "we are in until we win" talking point. McCain wants "a lot more" troops while Abazaid is saying the army could not support even 20k more for a sustained period.
What are the Republicans drinking. There message is so off target and confused, it is nuts.
The Democrats want a to start reducing troops in the next four to six months....
Who supports the troops now? Those that want to keep them on the ground in a place where they think that the mission has failed, or those that want to get them out of there? Who has the smarter policy? Walt Disney is a good man, and he did more than most who have his wealth and privilage do, he became a SEAL. You may disagree with his message, you may disagree with Kissenger, you may disagree with the outcome of Baker-Hamilton, but now that so many right wingers are abondoning this effort as lost and futile, how can anyone with a straight face claim that withdrawing is not a viable strategy or that it falls at the feet of good Americans who happen to be Democrats?

http://www.washingtonpost.com/ wp...6112401104.html

This from Chuck Hagel, the Republican Senator form Nebraska. He a "pinhead" "who does not really support the troops" too, or does that label only apply to Democrats like your teamate Walt Disney who thinks we should leave Iraq (AKA "cut and run")???

I appreciate you admitting you went a bit too far. We all get carried away but sadly few can admit that. Thanks
Matt

The "right wingers" were never advocates of Total War in the first place. You had bucket freaking Buckley the arch conservative going back, you had neo neo Francis Fukuyama going back. No Shermans seen yet, that would go back on their fight to war.

People who want the mission to fail is at odds with those who want the mission to fail. That's like saying you are against communism and tyranny, but at the same time saying you support Joseph Stalin because he is a good man. Come on.

People who want to withdraw the troops aren't supporting them so much as treating them as invalids and victims, to be pitied and protected. It isn't about support, it is about doing for them what they can't (and won't) do for themselves.

feeling bored? then why not try some killers all these things lyrics power grab wissenschaft und wirtschaft

How does calling someone a pinhead and "putting them in their place" for a different point of view give you moral clarity????? The lack of respect and namecalling works against your debate points and, in the long run, hurts your argument.

Example: We're watching the Super Bowl together. You're for one team and I'm for the other. I say you're an idiot and you don't understand football at all. You have no athletic clarity. Is that going to sway you to root for my team? Or should I stick to the statistics and try to get you to root for the right team WITHOUT calling you a pinhead who needs to be put in his place.

If we all thought the same way with the same point of view, we wouldn't even come close to having the freedom this amazing country offers us.

Moral clarity is not calling someone names and disrespecting their "shoes" — which you have not walked a mile in. Nor have they walked a mile in your shoes. You cannot automatically expect everyone to see the world as you do, or vice versa. Nor should they condemn you for your failure to think like them. Or vice versa.

We need to bring back respect for differing points of view before we can be successful in debating moral clarity and the path we all should walk together, whether in total agreement or not.

I did not understand the harshness with which you treated the message by TMc. His point of view was expressed succinctly and with respect. He admitted he had not walked a mile in your shoes, and was merely sharing with you, quite politely, what that mile was like in his shoes. Your response that he was a "poor misguided pinhead" unfortunately spoiled your debating credibility. I was disappointed and turned off from that point on by your arguments. Why have our political discussions turned into grade school bickering on both sides? What happened to intelligent debate?

(I hope you were not tempted by an immature smart remark at that last question. It would merely reinforce my point.)

Please don't weaken your arguments by stooping to namecalling and disrespect, sir. It doesn't work. If your arguments are fair and strong, and respect those who will never agree with you, they will stand up without any need for sucker punches or nastiness.

Let's bring sportsmanship back into our debates so we can learn to listen to each other again and grow from our combined wisdoms.

Amen brother,
I know from reading your other postd that you have a small amount of simpathy for Muslims. Thats fine and very Christian of you. For me though, I have no simpathy, I have seen too many good people killed by those MFers and I WILL avenge. I have been finding Masques in my town and watching them and I will hit them where it hurts. Thank you for the inspiration.

James Linders.

SO glad to see you back! Some of these comments drive me nuts - I totally agree that there should be two points of view, and am happy for some of the challenges that will keep war-mongers in line. However, I do believe there is a moral clarity. We did not choose this war, and if we choose not to fight it where we currently are (Iraq), and choose to 'pull out', then we only choose to fight a more difficult war later. These extremists look at our country and our 'religion' as it is shown to them and think we have no backbone. They laugh. If we can't stand up for anything, then we're not worth standing. It's the whole bully concept - stand up to the bully and show you're worth your salt, and he will respect you. I will grant that we are seen as the bully because we have more power, but they have the backbone. A small bully will pick on a large, strong man if the large man shows he won't do anything about it. A gentle 'go away and leave me alone' just doesn't work here.

Support the troops means get it done now, however it needs to be done. Backing out is not ending it, only prolonging it and making more violence for our children and grandchildren. Backing out shows we are just too weak to be able to take control of this situation.

Crying for quits and not supporting our policy is ridiculous. Which of us truly has the information and input that President Bush has?

Sorry to be so long, I'm very frustrated with the lack of backbone in this country.

Love you Scott.
