Sometimes the terms you use are in the general usage and sometimes they are in the technical. Know what I mean? Epistemology, technically, doesn't espouse a philosophical theory. It's a tool, though that hasn't stopped philosophers from trying to develop epistemological axioms, and then argue those axioms.
Anyway, it's a problem when you mix casual terms with their technical equivalent. Same word, but totally different meaning.
The question is I think what are the necessary sacrifices we can live with.
