OK, I so want to read your copy of Gatsby, because (as I try and mention whenever I possibly can), my most favorite thing in the whole entire world is finding notes in the margins of books. LOVE. IT. |
Wait, your book has hos, too? Dude, same as Gossip Girl! |
I'm mostly a bracket-er and a star-er in my margins. |
I'm all about brackets in the margin, too. And underlining, with cryptic editors' shorthand when appropriate. Yes, another reason I'm an asshole: I edit books as I read them post-publication, AND, often am convinced that my edits are better. |

When I read my favorite book, I become a zombie. Wherever I go, the book goes with me, in my line of vision. People learn to move out of the way...as they should, I mean Melissa Bank is so much more important than they are. :) |
I just read it for the first time two months ago. I don't think I would have appreciated it until then. |
Ashley, I totally understand. I read it in high school and was all "this is stupid," and then when I reread it, I realized that I was stupid (no huge revelation there). |
I read The Great Gatsby for a month one afternoon. |
jennie! - you can read my copy, but you have to do it here; i can't risk sending it through the mail. |
I once admitted to a colleague that while Gatsby is not my favorite book (easily in the top 20 though), I think it is the most perfectly written book in the English language. |
and thus, you have redeemed yourself. |
My favorite in the Gatsby series was "Gatsby Meets Frankenstein." Classic. |
gsr - my goal is to get you so drunk on saturday that i'll be able to CONVINCE you with the power of my DRUNKEN PERSUASION that gatsby is your favorite book. |

I read it some years ago, but sadly I could not tell you a single thing about it*. Nada. Not that you need me to. |
