Gravatar Happy Anniversary to both of you!!!
You are together for a reason!!

"You don't live in a mechanistic world ruled by necessity; you don't live in a random world ruled by chance; you live in a world ruled by the God of Exodus and Easter. He will do things in you that neither you nor your friends would have supposed possible. …"EUGENE H. PETERSON, Five Smooth Stones for Pastoral Work

Gravatar Happy anniversary to you both! So, how *are* you going to vote?

Gravatar blessings on your anni.

Gravatar aaahhh.....a man who knows how to fold laundry....such a blessing....

Gravatar A real blessing indeed.
I voted against the "big" amendment to the constitution, although since I will soon be under appointment and no longer allowed to vote (and this amendment would give me a voice), I agree that the wording was done very badly and would have unexpected consequences. If allowed to vote next time (in four years) I would/will vote yes, because in my conference alone there are 270 plus pastors who are under appointment yet not allowed to vote. However, by that time I will be a Probitionary Member and be allowed to vote again (Lord willing.) I believe that John Wesley clearly would have better supported the local pastor -- his mother was the person who conviced him to listen to grassroots preachers and he was persuaded of their value and call. Under our current apointment system, Bishop Asbury would not have been a full member of the conference.
