A friend of mine said that a good relationship was one in which your brand of crazy is compatible with someone else's. I think that's just as true for congregations.

Other statistical factors that you might want to consider: 1) Is it a 1st church in a rural county seat town? In our conference that inflates membership. So there is a potential skew for the ratio of membership to worship attendance 2) In a more populated area you may want to look at zip codes or census tracts instead of county demographic info. 3) Is there a strong preference for another denomination? i.e. was the town (again, particularly if rural) settled by Lutherans, Catholics, etc?
