I hope you're right CM. I watched the video when MM had it up and was shocked. Why not teach the simple, always works algorithms? What does it matter what animal math would be if it could be an animal? What?

Anyway, it is really messed up and as far as I can tell, my son is not learning it here in Northern Utah. Then again, he is only in grade 1, so we'll see as he progresses.
