Gravatar Nice story. Your husband sounds like a good man.

Gravatar Awww. So sweet, and I thought that the post was gonna be all about chapped hands! I am sorry that you too had to do the laundry like Mary and I did, but oh how it shaped our character eh?
It is awesome to be cherished by your husband, and I know that you are super grateful. He IS an awesome guy, and I am glad that you both are still appreciating each other! It is a rare gift.

Gravatar Good hubbies are a rare treasure. Yours sounds awesome.

Gravatar I loved this. It made me smile from ear to ear, mainly because I think after kissing a lot of frogs, I have finally found my prince too.

I can only hope we are as lucky as you and Mr4444.

Gravatar I know, Geri! I had no idea where I was going when it started, seriously. Probably wouldn't get an "A" for getting to the point, but I'm glad you stayed with me

Yeah, Mr.4444 is a keeper. Heather, I'm glad you found yours

Gravatar awwww! this is so cute! you 2 sound like the perfect pair.

Gravatar How very sweet! Mr 4444 certainly sounds like a keeper!

Gravatar This is inspiring to see a married couple that truly appreciates one another. You both are making the magic. May you have many more wonderful years. MKF (Mari)

Gravatar Beautiful post!

Gravatar Love this post. We need more men like him in this world.

Hallie

Gravatar Congratulations on winning the husband lotto!

Gravatar Awwwwwww! I love this post!! Mr. 4444 is definitely a keeper...as are you! And yes, you TOTALLY won the husband lottery!

Gravatar What a wonderful man - and no doubt a good dad, too!

Gravatar I get those chapped hands every winter. Ugh. Glad to see such loving comments from your husband I bet it makes you glow!

Gravatar Sounds like a keeper!

Gravatar Wonderful! It's those little things that do mean so much. I've always told my husband I'd be happier living in a cardboard box with him than in a castle with someone else. And these kind of things are exactly the reason!

Gravatar You are very blessed--how wonderful!! You definitely won the husband lottery!

Gravatar Does your husband have a brother?

Gravatar What a sweet guy! My guy's a keeper, too, and I always tell my girls that they've been spoiled...they'll have to find a guy who's a least half as kind, sweet and generous as their Daddy! PS: The Random Generator Thingy just happened to pick YOU, Mrs. 4444 as an Sx3 winner! Please drop by my place to claim your prize, OK?

Gravatar aww how sweet. I had a moment like that today. I have some cancerous cells on my cervix they found and after removing them, if they grow back the doctor is talking hysterectomy. My sweetie said "Then I'll go get clipped." Confused... I said "Why?" He responds by saying, "You won't have to lose anything alone, so I go through it too." Weird, but very sweet!

Gravatar I love this post - thanks for sharing.

Gravatar You guys definitely have that forever kind of love. What a great post!!!!

Gravatar Sigh...

Gravatar Great post! I totally relate to the dry icky hands thing with having eczema AND being a cleaning lady that doesn't wear gloves You always have such great things to say about your family, Love the positive attitude! Lisa

Gravatar I started out reading and nodding about the old wringer washer. We had one too. (My mom still has it - won't upgrade no matter what we do!!! I think SHE will die before her washer does!) I vividlly remember the HOT water, the smell of the Shaklee soap, the "Chug -a Chug -a" sound of the agitator...and the way washclothes would wind themselves around the stupid wringer. Uuuuugh. So, you gave me a nostalgic rush. THEN, you had me tearing up with your sweet, sweet tribute to Mr. 4444. He's a gem, alright. My husband, too, is the king of the little things to show his love. He's great at filling up the gas tank at night so I don't have to stop on the way to school in the morning. Thanks for the very needed reminder that I, too, won the husband lottery!

Gravatar If your hubby tells you he won the "wife lottery" then you know you have a keeper. He sounds like a really great guy! (I've always told my wife that too, but she never believes me. At least, she doesn't let on that she does.)

Gravatar Lucky you! Although, I suspect you must be very worthy of his love.

Gravatar Yep, there are very few of us "wonderful husbands" out there....

Gravatar Well, you can tell him that he just melted my heart too.

You got a good one!

Gravatar Wow...
Did you do the wash while you listened to the victrola?

Your post reminds me of a song by Brad paisley " little Moments"

Gravatar Awwwww

I built a chicken coop for Corrine! Woo hoo!

Think your husband will teach me to replace wiper blades?

And I'm NOT ignoring you. I had to order some copies of the book, and once they arrive (You can't buy them in your local bookstore...) I will mail your SIGNED copy right out to you.

I promise!

Cross my heart

Gravatar I'm so excited, Scott! As long as I get it before September, as once school starts, I will not crack a book (for reading pleasure). And chicken coops definitely count for Perfect Husband Points!

Yes, Mike, I know! Thank goodness you and Andrew (and Tom) are out there in the blogiverse, setting good examples for the rest!

Yes, Oscar, and my brother accompanied us on the washboard! I'm going to check out that song...

UnknownMami-That is so sweet. Thank you.

Okay, BlueVelvet-He could use the praise these days (stressed out a bit from work).

TAmi, Gertie, I'm happy for you

Kori-Some day, your prince will come (or at least reveal himself

Thanks, Lisa. I had forgotten that about the eczema-I hope you're wearing gloves on your job!!

Yes, Amy, that is adorable. Sorry about those cells. I had cryosurgery done 19 years ago and haven't had a problem since. Don't start worrying too much yet!

MelissaB-I know! Mr.4444 has set the bar so high, he's really limited Kendall's choices (at least until she gets to college, and we are happy to wait that long! haha)

Sorry, Nikki-his brother's taken, but he IS raising a wonderful son who will one day make a perfect catch. Can you wait 10 years?

Gravatar You are definitely a lucky woman. And I have a feeling he knows he's a lucky man.

Gravatar Wow. I thought I had it bad growing up when my weekly chore was to clean the windows!

Gravatar Sounds like you've got a real keeper.

Gravatar What beautiful memories. The imagery of your hands through the years is wonderful---- all leading to a sweet husband who knows what beauty really is. Thanks for recollecting !

Gravatar Awwwwwwww!!!! What an incredible guy!!

Real faults? What are those? hmmm.

I'm not sure what they are.....but I'm quite sure you don't have any. (Nor do I! ha!)

Gravatar I love how you turned a story on old fashion laundry into a love story with your husband. Very cute!

Gravatar Thank you for sharing your romance with us!

Gravatar Now THAT is a good guy. Way cool. You're so lucky -- and even more so that you know it.

So are you really doing the BlogHer run/walk? Are you running it or walking?

Gravatar What a beautiful love story. I'm so glad you shared it.
