My mom is still alive, but she has dementia and is no longer with us mentally. Your mom sounds like a great woman.

That WAS sweet! Good idea that you had. I usually call my kids and some in laws on their birthday and play the first few bars of the Weird Al Yankovich birthday song, which they have mixed emotions about, but mostly love! When they were young I used to blast them awake with it outside their bedroom door. When I am gone someone else will have to do it for them so they won't be sad. :0
