Thank you so much for this post! I made some socks for my grandpa for Xmas 06, and they were returned to me this week with MULTIPLE holes like the one in your friend's sock (but just in one sock, strangely enough!). I just kept looking at it in disbelief - how in the world am I going to fix this? Now I know! Thanks!
