Gravatar No one has said that we went into Iraq because he was responsible for 9/11. I defy you to find the quote. Was Saddam connected to terrorism? Absolutely! Without a doubt. Is the war on terror limited to Osama? Not at all. Anyone that heard the speaches shortly after 9/11 understood that to be the case. Saddam was a threat. Yes. Did he have WMD? Probably. Could he sell WMD technology? Yes. Did he have connections to Osama? Some but it's not as important. Are we safer without Saddam in power? Absolutely. Peace at all costs is an invitation to enslavement.

Gravatar Maybe it wsn't said directly but shoving a safety issue down our throats was implied along with the fact that all i hear is 9/11,9/11. I dont have to find a quot this is my blog. i like so many conservative republicans can say, whatever i want.
I donot feel we are safer now that Saddam is out of power. He was a very bad man yes, i agree. But now that we have "liberated " iraq the whole contry is a petri dish for the breeding of terrorists, much more so than it ever was.
I think, due to bush policy we are not even close to safer.
Kerry-Edwards '04 Just in case i hadn't made that clear.

Gravatar Thanks for your opinion, Cassandra.

For every terrorist Bush's actions have killed, a thousand more have lined up to take his place: the ripple effect of hatred created by Bush's cruel, stupid, undemocratic and illegal actions.

You can't bomb your way to peace or democracy. It just doesn't work like that.

Amercians don't want peace, they want revenge and like an embarrassed schoolyard bully who has been shown-up in front of his gang, is lashing out at any nation or group of people unable to retaliate. "Somebody's gonna pay for this and it doesn't matter who!" is the current American mindset.

"Anybody but Bush" sounds like a reasonable mantra to me.

Gravatar here here. This election is making me very nervous.

Gravatar This election is making me very nervous as well. I have to disagree with daMomma about the American mindset. If we were truly a bully out for revenge, we would have blasted Afghanistan shortly after 9/11. I wish we didn't have to be there. You're right about the terrorists; there are too many of them, spread out all over the world, including my country. Do we keep fighting them, or lay down like pacifists? Either way, peace has a very high price tag.
