I think everyone has a family member (or 2 or 3 *G*) like that....you know you'll always have something (or someone) to talk about at family get togethers. LOL
I love blogs...especially for this reason. HA. Anyway, life is too short to get worked up over this kind of crap. Your family is a hoot, but then again, they aren't my family which is probably why I love 'em. But, I digress. (And I can't spell). If someone feels "obligation" to spend time with me, I don't want to be around them anyway. I visit family in small doses when we can spend quality time together. (Traveling 400 miles for any event is exhausting, especially around a holiday.) Your cousin is the one missing out, cut her some slack. On the flip side, try skipping out of some of the family obligations. It's liberating. (There's a reason I spend Christmas in Paris.)
By the way, your blog has "rantings" in the title. Don't make any apologies for content. Like cable TV, the radio, etc... folks can choose not to read it. (Get it out now before the FCC and religious right start coming after blog content.)
well instead of totally having a cow, i decided i would blog about it. And i shouldn't apologize. So i take it back, dammit. I enjoy myself when i go to family things. But sometimes when your packing up the kid and husband and doing your hair and make up it feels like an obligation.
I agree that this is what blogs are for, when you rant (and boy do I rant) you feel better and can say the things in cyberspace that you would never say in real life. It is digital therapy.
The way I see it, this person just does not want to do things with the family, forcing the issue makes it worse. Drop some comments from now on about how good she is at getting out of family get togethers.
You really need to get over it and leave Alicia alone. I can see why she wouldn't want to be around you. A bitch that is constantly nit picking at her.
