I feel your pain. As a passive agressive statement at doctor's offices I blow the plastic bubles. You know the ones that stay around a while and don't pop...and leave a circular goo stain behind. The longer I wait the more they have to clean up. It amuses the heck out of Connor and usually makes everyone else smile too.

OK...I know I'll get 10 kinds of hell for this but.....Comming from someone who has worked in a Pediatricians office for 10 years. It is the ultimate responsiblity of the parent/guardian to have all of the correct information at the time of the visit. Dr's get burned way too many times and so many people are way to lazy to make sure things are in order, Insurance, Co pays (they forgot) like they didn't know they had the appointment. You can't pick up your Prescriptions without one why should your MD see you without one!!! Immunization records. (my personal pet peeve)KEEEP 'EM don't let your kids chew on them, color on them, spill their juice on them, they are legal documents that you the parent are RESPONSIBLE for keeping and bringing to each well baby visit! DUH! As far as waiting for so long, well we are dealing with kids, and I would much rather wait a bit and have my child checked than for them to tell me they have no openings for 5 days as adult drs seem to do. The ER sucks for children as they are not specialized in treating children and soooooo many times get missdiagnosed and treated or not treated. Ok there off my chest! Didn't mean to offend anyone and not directed at anyone in particular. I know you have alot of moms that read your blog and just wanted to share what the other side of the fence sees!

Oh PS,(sorry Coleen) as far as your children making messes. Clean them up. You will appreciate it on your next visit when the waiting room is clear of clutter, used tissues, half eaten cheerios or french fries, books half torn up(which I'm happy to say, we have some great moms that donate their used ones to us often) It's just common sense and makes a nicer environment for all involved. And another thing, Yes your children will get sick a week later everytime you bring them for immunizations, it's just gonna happen, germs are everywhere!

Gravatar In my case, just so you know, I was told Jennah was covered by the insurance. I rescheduled my appointment so Jennah would be covered on the day of the visit. This was none of my doing. I had my plan # (which is what i was told i needed by Healthy Families) her immunizations, AND i came to the appointmant 20 minutes early. It totally wasn't my bad. Like i said, it was insurance. And to my doctors credit, he looked at Jennahs eye anyway, and pronounced it fine. She just didn't get her hep B vaccine.
