Clinton writes: At this point, we don't have anything punitive that we have proposed." On the other hand she will be forcing people to pay for health care before they can work. How is that not punitive? Suppose you are too broke to afford health care and that is why you need a job. Under her system you cannot work until you get the health care and you cannot get the health care until you get a job. Nice catch 22 she's setting up there and the nation's poor, as usual, will get the shaft. And what good is it to someone that cannot afford to eat this week to give him a tax credit so that he can get that health care so he can get that job? Sure, as long as he doesn't mind waiting until the following April or so for the refund check (if he was even able to work at all that year).
Sorry for the non-neutral gender language, it was just easier that way.

Quoth Paul:
"For decades, the U.S. healthcare system was the envy of the entire world."
And when is that supposed to have been?
Envy? For a system where tens of millions of people have no health insurance, and where those that have any pay a lot more than Europeans? For a country whose government does not negotiate drug prices with the pharma companies?
I have health insurance by means of being a citizen of Austria. That's how to do it.
Were I a German, I could opt to pay for a private health insurance instead -- allegedly better, but more expensive. Still, it would not be possible for me to have no health insurance.
Why do so few US politicians ever look across their borders?!? Why do both Clinton and Paul believe they have to reinvent the wheel all over again???
