They recruited Alan Keyes because no one else in the Republican field can stand up to Dr. Paul in a debate. Look for the set-up in the next Republican debate with Keyes going after Paul.


Gravatar First the disclaimer - I voted for Alan Keyes in the 2000 primaries, and voted for him against Obama in 2004 (I live in Illinois). However, knowing how strong Keyes' pro-life stance is, and how he went after McCain in 2000 over wishy-washy answers, I suspect his target is to take Rudi to task over his pro-abortion stance. Everyone else is avoiding hitting him with that issue too hard. I suspect after a debate or two, Guiliani will be out of first place, making room for another candidate - maybe Ron Paul.
