$40 isn't much these days, unfortunately. It might cover 2 cheap meals at Ruby Tuesdays, if you're lucky. :(

You're a good uncle. I wish my bros would send my kids $40 every now and then...

...hint hint.

I have 2 sisters. Cheryl is the oldest (the Oscar freak). And Karen is in the middle. I'm the youngest.

They're both married with 3 kids each. My oldest nephew just went to the prom today. He was all dressed up in a tuxedo. It's cool seeing kids grow up into adults. I gave him $40 to go out to eat afterward, or whatever he wants to do with it.

I remember Mike mentioning to me that you'd lost your parents close together like that. You had a doozy of a year. And you were so young. That must have been a terrible time for you. How many kids in your fam? I know your sis (Oscar Party Girl) is close to you. We're always here for you, too!

My dad died in August 2000 (abdominal anyeurism) and my mom 10 months later in June 2001 (pancreatic cancer). It's fitting that they died so close together, cuz they were pretty much an inseparable duo, anyway!

If you can picture Mr. Spock with a short fuse, that was what my dad was like. He was my baseball coach during my freshman year, and even in his early 40s, his curveball was the best I ever faced.

I can imagine Streetgang's grandfather explaining his death. "Listen Frank, I'm dead now, so I can pass on to you the secret of life. It's porn. Watch all the porn you can, and don't feel guilty for a second...."

TAD, that's so nice that you shared your dreams with us. When did your parents pass away? I'm sorry you've lost them. I believe in 'talking' to my loved ones as well. I'm always asking Mike to put in a good word for me. I'm sure he's probably done something to piss off the Administration of Heaven...ha ha.

I've had a couple experiences with Dream Grandpa and Dream Grandma that still baffle me to this day. When I was a kid, Dream Grandpa even explained his death and said good bye. Dream Grandma kind of nags me a little bit, but I'm still thrilled.

Are you gonna be doing monster workouts every weekend for the next several months? Talk about commitment!

I've had some dreams about my dad lately. I actually have conversations with him, which is kind of cool. Sometimes it makes me wonder if it really *is* him. About a month ago, he was telling me that I needed to challenge myself at work more, and that I was capable of much more. I applied for a higher position at work a little while later, and I ended up getting it (I started my new job last week....I'm a foreman in charge of 20-30 people now). So I give "Dream Dad" some credit for pushing me. And last night, I had a conversation with him about the Presidential race. We were talking about who would be good Vice Presidential running mates for Obama. We ended up agreeing that Jim Webb (the Senator from Virginia, and former Secretary of the Navy) would be a good choice. It's kind of cool to still have conversations with my dad (via dreams).
