I remember in Spring Training this year, Andruw Jones reported to the Dodgers' camp about 20 lbs heavier. He said the weight gain would help him stronger during the season. LOL......as if sitting on your couch eating oreos all winter is gonna give you some kind of competitive advantage. He's currently hitting .167 with 2 HRs and 7 RBIs, and has a cranky knee.

total ride time was about 6:15 to 6:30, with about 40 minutes of aid station breaks (most of that being the rain delay at the country store).

He's been a hero of mine since I was a kid, and I don't have many heros (Bob Dylan, Paul O'Neill, Ted Kennedy, and my Dad....that's about it!). Everyone knows about his many scars and moral failings, but he's also been one of the political giants in American history, in terms of the influence he's had in the Senate since the early 1960s. There's been no greater champion of the working class than Ted Kennedy. The liberal lion. I hope wins this latest battle.
