I don't know about the Arctic adventure! LOL....I love to camp out, but I have this feeling that Streetgang is taking things a bit too far, in terms of roughing it in the outdoors. I can see Streetgang bring 15 different cases of assorted microbrews, but forgetting blankets. That kind of thing.

Happy Mother's Day to Binzamom and Sheeba! Hope you both had great days (and I'm sure you did).
Thanks for the nice words, Binzamom. I think about Mike a lot. It's nice to know he had such a warm family. I know Streetgang has said this many times, but it's true....Mike always spoke with great affection about his family. He was very proud of you all.

Thank you! It's been a good day. I've been pampered and spoiled by GKhan and the kids. We visited Michael's grave and felt him near. Streetgang and Tad, you have no idea how much your friendship means to me. You are my link to Michael. He never made friends easily growing up and it's comforting to know he had you as friends in his adult years.

We're going to fish although way up and down. But we will have to do it from land and we are NOT veering off the road except for marked trails.

I'm not sure about brining a shot gun or not. Its a pain taking a gun across the border. However, there will be two nights of camping and I would hate to have a bear issue (although unlikely).
Caribou and moose abound. The wolves are pretty intense too. I hope i see some. I haven't enjoyed the true sound of earth without humans since Iceland. There are 3 of us going...but one is a Quaker....I have no ideas why i just said "but one"...I would like a 4th for gas prices. TAD?

That squid could take down a medium sized wooden craft. That is amazing!
We are a go for our arctic trip. July 13th, depending on softball. We will literally be driving to polar bear territory, although the polar bears retreat to the islands of James Bay in the summer. On one stretch of road we will have to strap gas to the top of the car. We will be 200 miles away from even a small town. There is some Cree fur trapping outposts, however. The entire area has quietly undergone one of the most massive engineering projects in human history. Several rivers have been damed to provide electricity to New York. Last year a journalist willy-nilly took it upon himself to take a tour of the dams making the Canooks realize that a little security is in order. The dams have also created tension with the Cree. Our destination is a Cree town of 3,000. Pretty big, really. There are also Cree check points we need to go through.
Supplies:
2 cases of Beer, Stroh’s 30 pack
One bottle vodka
Dry ice
Ice
First aid pack
Two spare tires
Spare windshield wipers
Spare head lights
Spare gas drum
Smoked fish
Fishing poles
Flares
Spydico knife
Machete
Food
Rented satellite phone
Tent that connects to my vehicle (ugly ass Aztec)
water
5 lighters
Mosquito net
Winter coat
Roll of Snus
Sheebs, you can go if you want. But there will be a day where there will be no bathroom facilities.
Any advice on my supply list?
