I wish people would stop comparing modern day events to Nazi Germany and Hitler. Whenever I see people doing that, I always roll my eyes.

Munich was a very complex situation. Many people in France and Britain were sympathetic toward German aims at that time. The West felt guilty about the Versailles Treaty, which crippled Germany after WWI, and they were also sympathetic toward the (somewhat) oppressed German minorities in Czechoslovakia and Poland.

It's too easy to look back now and say the Western powers should have confronted Germany in 1938. They would have been going to war to protect Czech domination of the Sudeten Germans. Nobody had the stomach to go to war for something like that.

ckb, thanks for the book! It was like a feeding frenzy between Khan, Binzamom and myself when I opened it and read the title out loud! Everyone wanted to read it first! I'm letting Dad have the honors. He needs to make sure he's not mentioned in the book...lol. I'll bring it out in July for you and Dom.
