I use Avast on all of my personal computers, and it's very easy to use. The default setting make it quite painless, but, like CNET said, you can tweak it if you want.

I've heard nothing but good about both these programs.

It's a shame that a lot of people don't know that they can secure their PC for free...

Any commercial software you can find, and I mean any, has a free or open source alternative that is as good, or better!
