CCW and a no nonsense justice system do reduce crime but trying to draw a correlation between welfare reform and reduced crime is Republican Mythology that does not take into account several factors.

1.Welfare applications are in direct lockstep with a reduction in the buying power of the minimum wage.

2.During periods of increased buying power for low income laborers welfare applications drop.

3.Everywhere welfare reform has been practiced without the benefit of a strong justice system and CCW the crime rate has INCREASED not decreased.

Welfare pays better than production labor about 50% of the time because it is adjusted to the cost of living in the area.
