I just don't get the whole TiVo thing since everything on the tube seemingly is shown again and again and again and again....I gues it is nioce to have to watch something when you want, but sooner or later (within like a day or two) almost whatever it is is shown again.

All the best,
Gb

I understand completely about Tivo. I just moved and don't have it up and running yet, and it dawned on me that I have no idea when anything I watch airs.

Glen: with Tivo, you just use the search function, and tell it to start recording when ever it comes on ... now, or weeks from now.

If you have a series you like, you tell it to just grab episodes, and can specify only new ones, or all, or just any not recorded before.

It's like a TV with a search engine, and a VCR that just grabs everything you want, including whole series.

The greatest danger with it is you can have it find enough good TV that you spend all your free time becoming a Tivo-Zombie.

I guess it could come in handy then for something that does not repeat or just as a convenient way to watch it whenever you want. Not a bad gadget I suppose.

I only watch 2 shows "religiously"; NCIS and Stargate. I only know when they come on because the kids turn off the Wii and say "Dad, Stargate's on."
Also, I've been too lazy to search for it, but, what happened to "The Unit"?

THe writers strike happened. It will be back next year.

God bless you, Chris, there is hope.
