Speaking of which, also worth catching from time to time on ESPN Classic is an NFL Films piece showing Stram later as the coach of the Saints. It's actually a rare example of what would make ESPN Classic much more interesting to me--just showing an average team (or game) from an average year. Oh, and showing something older than 1995.
1. Jayson Blair's Big Movie: At what point do Christopher Guest and Harry Shearer enter the proceedings?
2. Hank Stram: Football is and always will be, the struggle to matriculate the ball down the field. Now if only the NFL Films CD had that line.
3. Bob Hope: My memories include the Christmas specials, mostly because of the All-America football team introductions (or at least highlights thereof). Not to mention his work with the USO, highlights of which seem to be broadcast constantly on the new College Sports TV network. (on my service!)
4. Kansas - Somehow I never expected to read the phrase "vast breakfast food conspiracy".
Of course, had they used corn cakes, you could fire up the Herbie Husker and evil hat references.
