As for the free speech thing, I think that kid doesn't have much of a case, honestly. I'm a huge proponent of free speech, but if the article is right that much of his rant was directed at the band director, you can see why said director might bust the kid down a bit. I mean, if you're at work and you tell your boss to go screw himself, you might get fired, right? Do you think the ACLU would take your case if that happened because you were just exercising your free speech right to swear at your boss? I think not.
