I see some hands over here...

Blue.

1. I've joined your WC Pick 'Em. Like my team name?

2. I'd go for a bit of contrast in choosing a shirt. Blue, as long as it's not too dark, would work. So would silver, or maybe peach.

Gravatar I'd suggest blue as well, but I may not be the best source for this sort of thing.

Gravatar My question now is for what you're planning to use the suit. For a formal event, I would do the white shirt and if you're dying to get the goldenrod in there, get a black tie with some subtle stripes. One big solid mass of goldenrod really wouldn't look good on anyone, regardless of skintone. Yellow is a hard color to pull off. Michelle Williams just barely managed to do it at the Oscars. For a more informal event, the dark shirt dark suit seems okay, but anywhere else it tends to scream "Hitman! Hitman coming through!"

Gravatar Medium blue is always nice. A light purple could be okay too. Yellow is terrible. Not even P. Diddy looks good in yellow.

My brother apparently got some sort-of-coral-red-pink-burnt-orange thing to go with his black suit. I have not seen it but he claims it is superfly.

Gravatar Dave has a shirt in "oatmeal," which can best be descibed as an off-white cream, with a hint of gray. Actually, it pretty much looks like oatmeal. It's a suprisingly good color.

Gravatar Light blue shirts are always a good bet, and work well with a variety of options - gold or pink come to mind. Dark blue goes well with almost any solid color. After that, gray works well - but blue's a more traditional and versatile wardrobe choice. Don't buy any shirt that's any other color - it rarely looks good. Keep your shirt and suit neutral - if you want to go wacky, go wacky on your tie.

Also, consider a shirt with a pattern (lines/multicolored squares). The more intricate the pattern, the fewer ties that go well with it - but a shirt with simple vertical lines on it can give you just enough "flair" and go well with enough different ties.

And if you have no taste of your own, always go with sports team color schemes as a preliminary judge. If no team mixes the colors you're debating getting, there's probably a good reason.

Gravatar sharp. ZZ Top's got nothing on you.

I like the way the photo caption for all mirror self-portraits should be "how do I work this damn thing?"

Gravatar Thanks Greg, personally I was thinking it was more in the sense of "damn that guy in the mirror, I shall have my revenge soon!"
