World Cup season makes me gladder than usual to live in a metro region with a strong antenna-based Univision station. I can see lots of coverage without cable; I just have to wake up a little earlier. The downside is I get a very catchy "Sears...todo para ti!" jingle instead of U2 songs.

Wait...that's no downside...

I noticed while riding the Metro through DC that the motto for this year's World Cup is "A Time to Make Friends".

Given that Germany's hosting, it's easy to imagine them meaning that more as an order than anything else.
