And under the category of things changing and yet staying the same, Iowa sells thousands of tickets to their New Year's Day game and go on to a sound trashing in the 2nd half by their Pac-10 opponents.

OK, so he's 20-10-1, so it's more new than it is old.

Well, of course Chris Simms can win in Dallas--when he's not playing the Sooners. I am curious as to why ESPN seems to think the Cotton Bowl victory proves that Chris Simms can win the "big game." Pardon my snickering, but the Cotton Bowl is not a "big game." Had it been a BCS bowl, or the Big 12 Championship, or even the OU-Texas game (which is a big game--ask Gary Gibbs, who got forced out despite a 70%+ winning percentage largely because he couldn't beat Texas, a la John Cooper), you might have convinced me, but winning a bowl game after playing abysmally in the two losses that cost your team a BCS berth is not enough to convince me you're a big-time player.
If Simms does go to Dallas, he can take comfort because OU's Roy Williams (yes, OU and Texas both had a player named Roy Williams)--who was a large part of Simms's nightmares during the glorious 63-14 whitewashing by OU--plays for Dallas and Simms will only have to face him in practice.
