I agree, I know for sure that, I would be very unlikely to purchase an Intel based machine unless it was a completely new chip architecture. I think 386 is a step back from the best technology. Nothing has validated more the PowerPC than the recent move of all gaming consoles moving to PowerPC.

Intel probably started the conversation because they need to find someone to fill the gap in loosing XBox.
