INTC needs to understand that AMD is not a threat and will probably never see significant marketshare. I think they are "spooked" by the IDEA they might have an X86 competitor.

I absolutely agree that Intel is much too concerned about competition, and not enough concerned about delivering great products for its customers now and in the future. However, I can't say that they are alone in this; we probably get more inquiries about competitors than about long-term strategy. It's a sad commentary on the myopia of business.
