Gravatar The Revolution will be telephoned [to paraphrase].

Gravatar From my understanding T-Mobile is the only carrier that doesn't cripple things like Bluetooth or using MP3s as ringtones, and they'll give you an unlock code upon request. I don't know about AT&T but Verizon disables these functions and for example requires you to use their data network for transferring photos and tunes instead of Bluetooth, which is only enabled for headsets and car systems.

At least that's been my experience. Wish Apple had been able to work something out with T-Mobile instead of the much-reviled Cingular, but it appears that the latter had to make some major concessions to get the deal so maybe they'll be a decent provider.

Gravatar U.S. Cellular doesn't cripple it's phones either. They use Verizon model CDMA phones, but use the manufacturer's operating system; so everything works. I have a RAZR v3m, but it uses MOTO's OS, so I can use Bluetooth for syncing, file exchange, etc. (And yes, I'm using a ring tone of my own creation, from my iTunes library.)

Gravatar I wouldn't be surprised if Wi-Fi is also bundled. Remember, at&t has their own Wi-Fi network, and might just include that with the $30 data plan, or offer it as a cheap upgrade. at&t Yahoo! DSL customers can add the Wi-Fi service for around $2/month.
